9Last thing you have eaten?
Chorizo and Feta panini
The Clap for Carers/NHS every Thursday, do you still do it, or have you never done it?
Never done it - lots of people just want to be seen doing it - loads of other key workers too - also, it’s free but the help the NHS isn’t - more funding, fewer free gestures
Those with little ones, how are they coping with no hugs from Grandparents, no school, not seeing school friends etc?
Don’t see my kids
What colour sheets are on your bed?
White....with brown and red splashes
Anyone watched the series Fortitude, if so, is it worth a watch?
Very much so
What is you least favourite meat?
Fish
What's your favourite flavour of Pringles?
Would never choose Pringles - pork crunch every time
What do you miss most about matchdays? ( I could answer loads on this one )
Getting to watch this fantastic team of ours
What time did you go to bed last night?
I just foresee the parts of my job I like (the travel, meeting people, new places and speaking) won’t be there even after then end of lockdown. I’ll be left with the parts I dislike (as I’m doing now), and frankly another 20 years of that can do one.
I’ve been thinking about what I could do as an alternative and frankly I’m a bit stumped. Even more so after reading that thread.
Did you come up with anything interesting? Be a big change to not be your own boss I think.
I now report into the bloke I used to manage, but there is no issue as I respect him, and he respects that I wanted to move away from responsibility and just sell part-time. Works well.Came up with some interesting ideas and some radical stuff but wonder if it would be any sort of success. As a rule people hate employing people who have been their own boss as they feel intimidated, this is always misplaced thinking and a symptom of fear but it's a barrier to get over. If I had a choice I'd like to get into the commercial side of football analysis but timing isn't the best!
I think I'd be quite happy to have a boss and for them to deal with all the red tape and stuff people hate doing.
I'm 39 and other than being a shit writer I have no idea what I'm doing or meant to be doing.
One day someone will probably find a use for me.
I went through the whole of that reddit thread and the only one which grabbed me was Train Driver. I appear still be a 5 year old at heart
I've never once known what I want to do. Other than being a footballer but I wasn't good enough to do that.
I'm not even sure I enjoy writing, it's a chore trying to be funny all the time. I don't enjoy translation either any more.
I have a lot of days where I think I'd rather be dead than alive. I don't have anything to live for. I'll probably pick back up but it's not a good time right now.
I did see plenty of stuff I don't want to do. Chef, consultant, IT sales engineer.
I’ve been all 3 of them, can heartily recommend finding an alternative.
Other than train driver what would you want to do if you could choose anything?
Strangely the people that were happiest on that thread were the nurses, doctors and teachers. They didn't seem to complain much about the pay either.
I've been thinking about retraining as an accountant, watvhing Ozarks was an inspiration!
I'm good with numbers and can communicate them effectively to CEOs in a language they understand. Im less good with people and better off not being put in the front of house. I just wish I wasn't working in an industry in perpetual cycles of recession.
Really wish I'd retrained a few years back now
Not working for Wates are you?
Was surprised yesterday to see them as the first to blink on redundancies, would've thought the likes of Kier and Interserve are in a world of trouble but both seem to have been bobbing along in a particularly brown river for a good while now.
Never been a better time than now.
