QuestionTime With PPB, Instead of Sir Robin Day .

Apparently, yes. Already some flags and bunting up yesterday.
We are expected to be out front with a glass of something for a toast at 3PM.
I haven't had a drink since lockdown, though I totally would have raised a glass down the pub.

Nope - I think it's a recipe for disaster in the current climate. Nothing against our neighbours (except the wankers who decided to have a conversation over the road at 12.30 this morning....) but I don't think it's a particularly good idea.

Is anyone's street having a street party for VE Day, you know where you decorate your house and sit on your driveways having sandwiches??

Nope.

Woild rather not mix with the collection of fucking idiots where I live.

No, although I shall be baking a victoria sponge later.

I always think it's August 15th that should be commemorated more, rather than May 8th

Sadly not as the roads a bit busy, but I will be raising a glass. Shame the BH amounts to nothing given the current situation. I don't want to go all "U.S.A." but its nice to celebrate our achievements as a country every now and then

You better not be saying that when you move near me :icon_lol:

I'll be out waving the flags and eating cucumber sandwiches with you whenever we get around to completing our sales & purchase

I hate this country's obsession with the Second World War, I don't see what's to be celebrated.

It's a no from me too.

I won't be listening to the Queens speech either.

I will be celebrating in my own way, and I will do the toast at 3. Don't really feel the need to sit in my driveway and have a shouted conversation with the street whilst eating a picnic. Can't see the people on our street doing it either tbh.

Is it all still going ahead? No idea of when it could be?

Because we won, and everyone was happy throughout despite the occasional death, the bombings of cities, kids being sent away from their families and life in general essentially drawn to a standstill for millions of people, many of whom had family members abroad at risk of death on a daily basis. We're British, you see. Halcyon days.

At this moment in time yep.

The sale of the MiL's house is all but ready to go. The valuation survey just needs doing but they haven't been able to come out due to the lockdown. Hopefully the restrictions getting slightly lifted next week will allow that to happen. Then that one is done and contracts can be exchanged
Our House sale - Same as above.
Purchase - All but done, soemhow this one has got further down the line.

Will be keeping an eye on the restrictions that get lifted and hopefully things can sorted very quickly.

Fingers crossed it all works out for you all soon. I'll keep me buntings and balloons for moving day :icon_lol:

We have landed lucky in terms of chains as well. The buyer for the MiL's house is a first time buyer so no chain
Our buyer is a first time buyer and the house we ar ebuying has no upward chain. That will help loads when the wheels start moving again

Apart from the entire country sacrificing everything to ensure the overthrowing of a regime that wanted to exterminate entire races of people from the planet?

I think you'll find that victory was better than the alternative,

That's good. We obviously had no chain and our seller was moving in with parents. Things moved along quite quickly.

Good luck.
