Christmas cake is meh. Love mince pies, either with evap, or custard, or cream. Gotta have me some yule log too!

Nope, wouldn't want to either. I'd feel too sorry for the staff!
Do you have a traditional dinner or have goose, duck, beef or other ?
Turkey & Gammon usually, but of course I don't eat red meat so that limits options. Again. gotta have me pigs in blankets.

But of course.
Ever tried Egg Nog, if so did you like it ?
Nope, & not tempted either.

Some fussy fuckers I ask, but I can be pretty good at coming up with something that people like.
Do you have to attend a works party, if so are you there because you want to be or there because you feel you have to be there ?
No. I spend all day with those fuckers, I don't want to spend my social time with them too. There are people far more important to me to spend time with.

You can still have a party,or go to a party and not have alcohol. Granted it would be a bloody piss poor party, but you can still attend parties all the same. No matter what your 'profession '

The work party "apparently" only had 5 people last year.

Would you say you are a good judge of character ? - pretty fair, 20 yrs of lending money gives you a good grounding in assessing character

Do you have a lucky number ? - yes

Can you iceskate? - tried once, got bored, stopped

What was the last thing you put in your mouth ? - a flapjack

What colour socks you got on ? - black with red toe & heel (actually had to take my shoe off to check that)

Would you be willing to go on Big Brother ? - chloroform & 2 large blokes to drag me in is the only way anyone could get me within 10 miles of the place

Is there a drink you have at Christmas time that you don't drink at any other time of the year ? - not a great spirit drinker, but always like a whisky or two as a pre Christmas dinner drink

Would you have to be drunk before willing to play Charades ? - not at all, though can help depending on the group you are with

Were you ever in a school play ? - probably, can't remember

When opening presents, are you a ripper or would you be able to use the paper again ? - ripper, and expect others to do so only ever buy cheap paper

Do you find making a Snowman fun, or not cos you'm a grumpy bastard who doesn't like the cold ? - did when the boys were small, not now as I expect the sight of me at my age making a snowman on my own would get the neighbours calling for a nurse

Last Christmas Panto you went to ? - Jack & the Beanstalk about 10 yrs ago, though it was put on by a youth theatre group I helped to run & I was part of the backstage crew anyway

Do you like Christmas cake and mince pies ? - yes in small doses

Ever go out to a restaurant for your Christmas dinner ? - did it once, wouldn't again. Forced jollification with a group of people you don't know (apart from your own small group) - hideous

Do you have a traditional dinner or have goose, duck, beef or other ? - usually trad, but probably beef this year

Do you wear the hat out of your cracker ? - no reason not to

Ever tried Egg Nog, if so did you like it ? - no

Do you usually ask people what they want for Christmas, or get what you think they will want and like ? - this will shock PPB, but for some years all adults in my family agreed that we would not exchange presents. Still do for spouse (well did) & children +nieces/nephews till they get to 18. More important to us to see each other than fretting about gifts. If people are visiting me there is always a small jokey present on the tree though.

Do you have to attend a works party, if so are you there because you want to be or there because you feel you have to be there ? - don't have a works party as such, merely a meal out at the end of term

Have you ever got rat arsed at one of these works party, and done something you later regretted ? - fairly inebriated in my younger days, but no faux pas committed

That took some time - amazed that anyone else got any work done today

Parkin, I've got another 8 but had better save them for another day :icon_lol: I could talk forever on the subject !!

The bit about the exchanging gifts didnt shock me. When I go home to UK for Christmas we never exchange gifts. I dont buy any and I get non in return. Not even exchange gifts with hubby. Its not what Christmas is about. Although when staying at home in US for Christmas we do have presents to open. I know which I prefer, to get to see family, or have a pile of presents. Family wins every time.

What is Christmas about to you?

What is Christmas about to you?

Its all about the feeling of Christmas. And all the religous folk can go and do one because you can enjoy Christmas and be a non church goer. It's a special time with family and friends. Its all the lovely memories that I treasure of Christmas's past. I can't remember any really from when I was little, my sister can't either. Im sure we had one but for some reasons they are blanked from our memory. I suppose I am making up for those Christmas's that I can't remember James.

I just love it all, the run up to it, the preparation, the decorating, the get togethers, the parties, seeing family who I dont see all year round, the foods, having a tipple or two more than I usually would ! the Christmas Eve in the pub, the excitement of Christmas morning, watching my mom open her presents, the warm happy feeling I get from the whole of the Christmas period.

I can understand its not for everyone. But for me its a special time.

Last lot for a bit.

Who said thank fuck ? !!

Who remembers the old Selection Boxes, with Spangles, Treets, Milky Way and a Fudge ?

Ever been away on holiday during the Christmas period ?

Do you know all the words to The Twelve Days Of Christmas ?

Do you hang a stocking for little saft pressies ?

If you could erase Christmas from the calendar, if you could just make it go away, would you ?

Would you say you are a good judge of character ?I probably would, but I probably am not.
