Preston North End (A) build up

Chance for Lambert to break a 20+ year streak and win his first game as permanent Wolves manager.

Graham Taylor - W 2-1 (H) vs Tranmere, March 1994
Mark McGhee - L 0-1 (H) vs Port Vale, December 1995
Colin Lee - L 0-2 (A) vs West Brom, November 1998
Dave Jones - D 1-1 (H) vs Gillingham, January 2001
Glenn Hoddle - D 1-1 (A) vs Watford, December 2004
Mick McCarthy - D 1-1 (A) vs Plymouth, August 2006
Stale Solbakken - D 1-1 (H) vs Aldershot, August 2012/L 0-1 (A) vs Leeds, August 2012
Dean Twatface - D 1-1 (H) vs Blackburn, January 2013
Kenny Jackett - D 0-0 (A) vs Preston, August 2013
Walter Zenga - D 2-2 (A) vs Rotherham, August 2016

No dedicated preview blog this week, the Lambert piece from yesterday replaces it as most of the "Wolves" section of a preview would just be repeating myself.

Or, glass half full, continue a 15 year unbeaten start for new Wolves managers

Wow, good stat DW.

Will be interesting to see how Bright gets on. Price and Stearman start too.

I wouldn't be upset if that is true, I think Price helps break up play and move the ball much more effectively than the likes of Saville (and to one of our players!!) and Stearman/Batth has worked in the past. Bright is a surprise but it depends again what kind of system Lambert wants to use for his first game.

I cant see Cav or Costa being dropped having done so well against Derby so I am struggling to work out how the team will line up, my guess based on Penks statement.....

------------------Bright-----------------
Cav--------------------------------Costa
-----------------Prince------------------
-------Saiss/Coady------Price----------
CBJ------Stears-------Batth------Doc--
----------------Lonergan---------------

I hope its Saiss over Coady but I think it will be Coady and I would much prefer Silvio at RB but I don't think it will happen. Alternatively perhaps he is moving to 4-4-2 with Bod & Bright up front?? if he does do that and chooses to play Cav and Costa as out and out wingers we will need to more defensive midfielders to compensate ie Price & Saiss.....

Can't wait to see the full lineup very excited about this one!

Think it'll be lonergan; Doherty, Stearman, Batth, Iorfa; Price, Coady; Cavaleiro, Enobakhare, Helder Costa, Dicko/Bodvarsson.

4-2-3-1.

Stearman back in favour. Well given our recent defensive fragility I dare say he deserves his chance.

Just coming into Preston now. Absolutely pissing it down.

If Bright does start I think that's a great move from Lambert. Sends a clear message to the cub's youngsters, and also to players who thought their position was automatically safe.

You have Bright as a no 10? That makes a lot of sense I hope that is where he plays and if so he supports Bod up top.

He usually plays just off Ennis/Wilson for the U23s I think.

Hmmm, saville on the left???

I don't know where people get their information from. But Stearman is not starting, he is on the bench as is Dicko.

No Saiss or Cavaleiro. Hmmm. Would possibly have preferred Tex in Bright's place too.

Good to see he's moved Doherty to his proper position though.

Stearman was meant to be starting and on the basis that both Price and Bright are starting I assume the information was correct, but something changed late on.
