Couldn’t really work out what happened for the goal? Did he tip it on the post or scoop it? If he scooped it, strange decision to do that rather than pushing it wide

Thought we were quite poor in that 1st half. Derby certainly deserved 1-0 despite the fact we spent a lot of the half in 3rd gear. Not much impressed by Castro and even less so by Bonatini

Ok so accepting that its pre-season that was very poor from us. The lack of movement and options for simple passes is evident. Our players are being forced to try the more difficult pass, which more often than not isn't coming off. Saiss along with Doc look weak defensively down our right and the goal came from a cross that Saiss failed to win and despite a decent save we were slow to the 2nd ball.

On the players,

Jonny - Looks like he can run with the ball but also looks weak on his left. I lively start from him.
Bonatini - Has done very little and when he gets the ball isnt making the right decisions.
Moutinho - Hasn't been that involved but a few moments of skill and a lovely cross to remind us there is so much more to come.

Lets get Jiminez on and see how it works with more of a presence up top.

Fair credit to Derby I think, they started with a quick press to shut down our passing and it's worked well. They've slowed as the half's gone on and started letting us play more, but overall their tactical setup is working well.

Moutinho has been skipped past at least 3 times...he also seems to be channelling some 90's vibe with a top too big for him.
Their left back looks a very decent player.

To be honest,Jota is one of our better players today.

Just seen the replay back. It hit the post (not convinced he touched it) then it hit a combination of patricio on the head and someone else and then fell to Nugent

Agree on Jonny he tried to cross a few times with his left and it wasn't good. Other than that good would like to see him on the right,.

Still think most fans take what happens in pre season far too seriously, i think we definitely need a few additions and make sure that the balance is right but these games aren’t worth analysing. The game next week may be different as it’s the last friendly but even then it doesn’t give any indication of what might happen.
