Pre-Season 2016/17 Season

Now there's a blast from the past. Mark Jones is to Colin Taylor what Niall Ennis is to Robbie Keane. IMHO of course.

It's kinda hard to tell about what potential Mark Jones actually had, as we couldn't name him for a start as it would have involved paying Villa a fair amount at one of Sir Jack's "tap off" times. We simply couldn't afford to play him!

Finished 2-1 v Cork. We played a young team but they also fielded a second team as they have a European fixture on Thursday.

Bright getting in to a nasty habit of diving a lot, apparently. Oh, and a lot of our first team were on the pitch when we conceded.

Getting ready to come on but didn't.

We started with Coady (c), Byrne, Evans & Lonergan from what you would say is our 1st team. Only change to that was Ikeme coming on for Lonergan.

Average age of the outfield was below 20 I think.

Wolves: Lonergan (Ikeme 45'); Odoffin (Leak 73'), Hayden, Johnson, O'Hanlon; Byrne, Coady (c), Evans, Ronan; Ennis (Wilson 45'), Enobakhare.

Unused subs: Flatt, Iorfa, Batth, Hause, Doherty, Henry, Wallace, Price, Saville, McDonald, Mason.

Coady being captain sickens me. Awful footballer.

Ah, I just read they were warming up and then that Ikeme conceded the goal so assumed there were multiple changes

Agree with DW on Coady. Dreadful player.

Few points.

Ronan looks the business, Coady still looks abysmal, Ennis has got a good physique for a 17yr old, and why were the full backs wearing the numbers 2 and 3 the wrong way round?

Also, where is Deslandes?

Deslandes is away with France I think.

Number 11 looks a corker. Who is that?

Reassuring that we have players like this waiting in the wings if the takeover does drag on for a bit. It's not ideal of course, but they look a really talented bunch with some nice interplay upfront.

11 is Ronan and he played on the left?

He should be getting more minutes this year. He may be small but he uses his body well to look after the ball and will only get stronger. Was the best player against Fulham u21s when I went last year and that included Wallace and Saville and a couple of other senior players that day I think.

U19's? I watched them demolish the Netherlands yesterday, didn't think Deslandes was playing.
Sure I saw he was away with them in some capacity but he's not in the u19 squad.

Highlights from the Crewe game...Iorfa wearing #3 then too...

He was. He tweeted about how proud he was to get called up the U19 Euro squad. No idea if he has since got injured though.
