****POLL NOW IN OP****Who do you want next?

I'm even boring myself now 😃. If we'd interviewed Lampard, Benitez, Howe, Fonseca and whichever employed managers we fancied and gone he's the man the job, I'd have been surprised but gone fair enough. The official line and remember this when you believe mutual consent was Scott will lead the recruitment. The reality was Jorge, who do you want?

Totally agree with the first part. On the second, we'll kill it before it gets there, if that's the trajectory of travel. Zenga was binned on October 25th

Problem with that is you’re relying on them appointing the right man to dig us out of the crap if we are there.
I think they’re playing a nieve dangerous game, the blind belief we’re to good to go down us delusional.

He won't get my 'full support' , because had the choice been him or Nuno, then he wouldn't have stood a chance with me. So he is already playing from the disadvantage with me that he is replacing my own favourite ever Wolves manager. He will get my lesser support though but all my confused outrage and longing for Nuno.

He needs to win like the first 7 games in a row for me to not be acting the way Homer Simpson does to Ned in the football team episode.

I mean this with respect, but come on... managers and players, even favourites, come and go. It's not Lage's fault?

Surely, even if you're sure it's the wrong decision, you have to back the new guy, at least before he's even made a signing or picked a team??

Tbh I don't think this Nuno fixation is that healthy, and it's a separate issue from questioning Fosun or the Lage appointment

There are two reasons why the "I knew nothing about Nuno, I know nothing about Lage, therefore I'll assume it's the same" fallacy can be written off.

1) We'd just had successive bottom half Championship finishes when we appointed Nuno, and had been in League One not too long before. We were getting rid of Paul Lambert. He was the ex-Porto and Valencia coach. Of course we're going to think he's better.

2) Nuno's record was far more extensive if you wanted to do a bit of research. Lage hasn't even managed 100 games at senior level.

Getting Nuno as a Championship club was a coup and rightly seen as one. Lage would not get the job at any other Premier League club, wouldn't even get an interview.

Well isn’t this fun. Remembering as I try to the dull as ditch water thread and the comments on here you would be mistaken in thinking Nuno was playing Barcelona style football here this season. In reality we looked a tired stale mess too often this season. If he does go to Palace it’s a disappointment but his insistence on a small squad and then only trusting about 15 to play won’t help him there. I can’t get worked up about it. Decision done move on and hope for better . Nuno goes with good wishes and thanks. That does not mean he can’t be improved on or that Lage won’t do that. We have to give him the chance. He isn’t the welsh chancer after all is he.

I don't disagree with any of that really, but if you compare managers with players you could make similar criticisms about the Fabio signing: with his limited playing record and the fact he wouldn't in a million years pitch up at any other PL club for £35m, yet this seems to be part of what Fosun/Mendes does. We don't have to like it all, of course, but they have form. Most of us accept Fabio now, even though you could say he was an oddball/inappropriate signing?

I don't think we can say it's a downgrade until we have seen what it all looks like.

I fear opinions made now won't change though

The spiel from the club is that they believe he'll be worth £100m+ one day though I'm not sure I buy that. He's alright, he'll get better than he is now, but yes, we could have made better use of that money in all probability.

The manager is more important that one player though. If he's shite, like Cutrone, then you just don't pick him and you get rid of him. The manager is there every game.

This guy is similar to Lage, but with more experience:

Would you be happy if we appointed him? I wouldn't.

I absolutely hate the recruitment process, and the fact he's been parachuted here by Mendes, and we most likely haven't even given anybody else a serious thought. It's outrageous for a club of our stature to be beholden to an agent like that, regardless of some of his successes and the strings he's pulled. I can get it with an expensive signing, dancing with the devil and all that. But our fucking manager! It's too far.

And I'm grumpy because I really wanted Potter, and I suspect that this was best chance to get him

It took a handful of games to see that with that fucking wanker eye of the tiger cunt. Would have been one but I was in Oz on hols.

This is a scary place we are going.
