O'Neil aka GONe

I'm not surprised he didn't get much abuse today, as I said in the verdict thread, we played OK for large parts and he got the subs spot on imo. The fans just want us ro do well.
That said, obviously he needs to go, just not up to it, never has been.

I could lay a shit on the touchline and, just by the law of averages, it’d have a win record better than GON.

Fuck Jeff Shi. Just fuck off you incompetent wanker.

Just before we scored the rumblings of discontent were quite audible, but the goal ensured the fans got behind the team and we were ok for the next 15 minutes before the almost inevitable capitulation. The behaviour of Lemina last week and RAN this week point to huge frustration within the camp which will surprise nobody. Time to get rid of GO as irrespective of who we bring in they will be an improvement. One win over an established PL team in 26 isn’t bad luck, it’s massive incompetence. We know it, Shi knows it, Hobbs knows it, even GO knows it, so get rid before Strictly finishes.

The last chance they had to change things to give us a chance was the last international break, they thought a 2-0 over Southampton was good enough.
The only thing we’ve got left is to not go down embarrassingly like Derby or Sheff Utd did.
This season is cooked already, no manager of any quality is going to pick up this mess, no player of any quality is coming here in January.
Home record this season W1 D1 L6, that includes defeats v Ipswich, Bournemouth and Newcastle who are poor away.
It’s like they’re all holding on to something that they don’t want, GON probably wants the sack and walk away with his severance, Jeff and Hobbs have all of a sudden realised he’s no good but don’t know how to resolve.

To add every game that goes by that GON oversees this debacle lowers the size of club he’s able to rock up at next. The only way he’s getting a PL job again is by promoting someone.
I’ll add the national media are culpable in this and their part time top soil review of everything that goes on at the club.
They talk like why should be the guinea pig for GON career regardless that it’s fucking the club for years to come but at least we have a young English manager a go.

I’d been thinking this. Obviously he’s not going to sack himself. And he’ll never have to work again after this. But his reputation should be in tatters because 3 home wins in 12 months -and all against rancid shite -is genuinely dreadful

Unless we credibly promise money in Jan then who'd take it? Only really someone with nothing to lose. I don't believe Cooper was in for an interview, just a coincidence, but he does.
The Lopetegui situation will haunt Wolves until shi (fosun probably) is gone.

The cat's out the bag. Everyone with half a brain in European football knows Shi is an incompetent liar...

No one of any pedigree will want to work with him and by extension won't want to work with fosun.

GoN

"That group need me to get them in a place where they're ready to go and I'll keep fighting for them. And that doesn't mean I'm not going to get sacked. For every result, the chances of me losing my job will heighten, that's nothing new - it doesn't concern me.

"When I speak to Matt [Hobbs] and Jeff [Shi], they'll tell me I'll need to do more otherwise they'll replace me. That's the same message for the players, you need to do more to compete at this level or you'll get replaced. That's how the business works.

"I'm not interested in my own position - I know the work I do every day and I know the situation we're in. To get this group to perform the way they did took a lot of work today. People can point the finger at me but some of the responsibilities have to land on the players in those moments. When we get in good positions and we spoon the ball off the pitch - I can't help them with that . Come on guys - this is the Premier League.

"[Dara] O'Shea booting down the pitch for [Liam] Delap and us not dealing with it, that's not me. I can't fix that. That's the lads. I'm really comfortable as myself as a coach and my standards as a coach and what I'm going to do over the next years for however long I decide to be a coach. I also embrace difficult moments."
This is the self preservation society

Think I'll watch The Italian Job later

If they’re not going to at least try changing the manager we might as well start the fire sale in January. At least we’d save some wages and earn a little interest on the funds raised. Also means the players we signed in the summer - Lima, Rodrigo and Forbs - can get some experience. You never know there is a remote chance one of them will do enough to get a move to a promoted club come the summer. I knew we were going to struggle this season but a loss next week and we’ll be as good as down before Christmas. Great work from a club benchmarking their season tickets against the top six.

His comment on Daz Hale is astonishing.

Is the answer in the changing room?

"It doesn't look like it"

At least the mask is slipping now, stop painting this picture that he's likable, he's a prick.
Because he knows the answer is in the boss' chair. And won't be answered until hes5not there to see it.

we've got a far better team and squad than any of the promoted teams at an absolute minimum

GON is awful, but our squad is nothing to write home about either.

Full of unproven kids, flops with awful attitudes and general mediocrities. Cunha and probably J Gomes the only definite top 10 players we have imo, but OK I'll take your assertion if we're talking on paper ability.

But when you factor in application, attitude, coaching...no fucking way.

We'll finish bottom.
