O'Neil aka GONe

I really cannot understand why O' Neil is still here . We are going to lose to West Ham either way , but I'd prefer to go there with someone like Steve Davis than O' Neil at this stage . The players clearly have lost confidence in O'Neil and it's really showing now .
At least with anyone else in charge on a temporary basis there would be a level of freedom for the players and perhaps more togetherness .
I don't know , it's clear at this stage that O'Neil is making things far too complicated in the belief that he is some kind of genius that is ahead of his time .
Football still remains a pretty simple game .

Couldn't agree more.

The bloke is a very VERY decent chess player so I am sure he could find some nuances our current tactical pygmy wouldn't come up with in his wildest dreams.

Steve Davis with Jim Davidson as his deputy for his Big Break in football? You heard it here first.
I'm sure Steve's team talk would be much the same as O'Neil's:

"It's only a game, so put up a real good fight."

Except we don't put up much of a fight at the moment. Not sure what Jim would bring to the party, except maybe his Chalky White routine, which has aged like milk. Or some financial advice for players looking to dodge the taxman.

My only hope now is that they're basically asking (well, or just using) gon to be the caretaker until the new gaffer starts. I guess it maybe kind of makes sense, though it's a clear signal that they're terribly prepared

Jim's a big supporter of leaving institutions against your financial best interests. Sounds perfect

I think it's worse than that, nobody they want is interested. The Potter report yesterday rings true.

When Ireland played Australia last Saturday in the Rugby International a chap call Harry Potter came on as a sub for Australia ( I kid you not ) .

At this stage I'd nearly take that Potter fella .

I notice Bob with the erroneous semi colon has gone quiet.

He hasn`t spoken to Hobbs or Shi after the Everton game according to his latest press conference.

More top level management from those upstairs. They really are fucking useless.

Anyone heard of Matteo Moretto?

Wolverhampton have placed Spaniard Carlos Corberán at the top of their list of targets to replace Gary O'Neil, should the latter be sacked if they lose to West Ham on Monday.

I don’t watch Albion a lot but Corberan can set up a team to be hard to score against. It would be attritional stuff but he’d definitely be a big step up from GO.

IIRC when we played West Brom in the Cup they looked a bit more threatening that we did but we had Cunha and Neto.
