Olympiacos FC (A) 12/03/20 - Following Nuno, Drinking The Ouzo

It was a poor performance, especially first half which is becoming a theme of late.

We played better in the last 20 mins than against Brighton but the numerical advantage helped with that.

I wouldn't be happy if I was Nuno put it that way. And he won't be.

Not sure why my post has riled so many people.

I love this side. The last two games have been really really turgid affairs. Is that really so debatable?

Sub Mick McCarthy stuff

There's the clue. It's unfair. It's wrong.

Come on. No need for such sensitivity. In terms of entertainment the last two games have been! We’ve not got out of second gear. Thankfully I know (unlike under Mick) we have additional gears to go into!

Don’t worry. The people who moan about OTT reactions, have OTT reactions.

It’s standard practice. Your post was pretty accurate.

In what fucking way did we play like NOT EVEN a Mick McCarthy side but a SUB Mick McCarthy side?

It's a terrible comment.

It wasn't, it was shite. Opinions and all that.

I’ve seen you post that the game wasn’t very good. And that’s pretty much what MobNet says. Ignore the MM stuff, everything else isn’t that outrageous

His last sentence I would say is about right but it was the MM stuff everybody highlighted.

Yeah and that was an OTT reaction given the general theme of the post. I find that from the usual suspects more offensive to my eyes than the original comment.

Same as "worst half of the season" when there are at least four (probably more) that were demonstrably, objectively worse. Bear in mind we weren't even losing and hadn't even looked in any danger at any stage.

It goes beyond "heat of the moment" stuff tbh because there's a very definite pattern that happens constantly. Spills over as well to when people have supposedly calmed down.

Now of course I have a choice, I don't have to read it. I think it's bloody dreadful behaviour though given what we have. If I were reading that as an outsider then I'd think that Wolves fans were a seriously entitled whiny bunch. As it is, I'm not an outsider and I just know it's a fact.

Couple that with the treatment Vinagre got inside the stadium last Saturday and I'm not too fond of our lot right now.

from listening to the comms we were poor tonight and frankly despite all the pre match press comments to the contrary, i don't think the players were up for it at all, and were more worried about taking an unwanted pressie home to their families. they are just people after all when they take their wolves kit off.
WE DIDN'T PLAY WELL AND CAME BACK WITH A RESULT I WOULD HAVE TAKEN BEFORE THE GAME, sorry caps lock, so i am reasonably happy.

Anyone would think that we've scraped a draw with FC Fylde! We were playing against a Champions League club that have just knocked Arsenal out. Do people really think we should have gone there all guns blazing, all out attack? If so, you can't have watched many of our games this season as that isn't what we do.
Contain to start and see where we are in the 2nd half

Some of it is hyperbolic, but I’m able to agree with the general theme of the post.

The results on paper are good, but today was not entertaining. I was not entertained on Saturday, Espanyol was rubbish, Norwich was OK. Spurs was good in parts and some rubbish. Leicester was rubbish, United was rubbish. Liverpool was good. Saints was rubbish followed by good. I went to all those games bar Spurs (sadly was on a course). And regardless of the outcome, it’s an entertainment business for me and at the minute it’s not that entertaining. You yourself have dug out big Sam for being dire, even though you can’t really question his results.

I’d like to think my posts aren’t hyperbolic or a loud of rubbish and are generally reasoned. But at the moment for me, the results are better than the entertainment value. And people are calling us “rubbish”, because it’s dull, even though on paper 0-0 at Olimpiacos is a good result, but we know and have seen we can and have seen us be better and more entertaining.

Nuno likes to play pragmatic negative football. We know this, but still doesn’t mean we can’t ask for the handbrake to be removed even though we know it won’t.

You good folk had better hope for a new manager then...

This is the way we play.
