Non League Football.

I was pleased that Scunthorpe were saved from the brink although I hope that they don’t win on Saturday. What is suspicious is how their Tory MP got £2.5m from the levelling up fund to help purchase the stadium.

Leamington beat Telford 2-1 in a bit of a TWF derby to get back to National League North.

1-0 wasn't it? Sold out crowd at Bucks Head for it

I can't read. Yes, 1-0.

Telford should be ripe territory to have a good 4th/5th tier team. Hasn't happened in the last 40 years though so it probably never will.

Living near Telford I actually don’t know anyone who supports them full time. They’re kind of a second club for most with a lot being phoney Liverpool fans etc

I think that's normal for most non league clubs without a FL pedigree. Hednesford have about 300 before the second club fans, Chasetown less than that, Mickleover who Telford beat in the first play off and where I live less still

I worked in Wellington about 8 years ago for a couple of years, there were 8-10 Telford fans there that went every home game, I also knew loads of Telford fans when I lived there. Maybe the support has fallen away since?

Wellington is the oldest part of the area and is where the ground is. I know people who watch them but as said it’s more of a second club. I’m a bit further out so there’s next to none here Shifnal is mainly a Wolves/Villa/Albion town.

That's a complete fuck up all round. Spent a relative fortune on Southern based players the manager knows, who turn it on in the cup, but for whatever reason don't in the league. Was always a possibility, they'll all leave now and it'll be a wasted season

Strong words in that - "The club’s priority is to uphold its principles of integrity and professionalism in all matters."

Epic from Hednesford today. 3 up in the FA Cup...3-3 at full time. 4-4 end of extra time and then lost the penalty shoot out

  • Wow
Reactions: b3h
Whilst twice missing a penalty which would have won it

Burton away for Tamworth, not a great draw

Not far to travel though.

TAMMERTH btw is how the locals pronounce it 🙂

Depends how you define it. Staffordshire derby and 20 odd yrs ago they were the bigger team

I'd always associate Burton more with Derby and Tamworth is Villa overspill. I know it's near but to me they inhabit slightly different worlds :D

I think Burton still play Derby every pre-season. Burton itself is full of Derby fans, and there's a few pubs that run buses to their games.

Kevin Ellison has scored 2 against Chasetown tonight, 3 months off his 46th birthday
