Newcastle United (A) 09.12.2018

There was no look from Boly, just a natural movement from someone heading the ball.
I dunno, to me it looks like his elbow is definitely moving backward which isn't really the natural direction you'd expect.

Bit moot tho as it wasn't given. We'll see if any punishment is handed out later.

Great finish, I've only just calmed down....I literally went nuts.

I said it it to the missus, I knew there was a goal coming for us, we just kept on coming at them. So proud of the lads for never giving up.

Fuck this last top flight crap that Sky promote. We won there on our last fucking visit. #bogeyteam

Totally undeserved? What complete and utter nonsense. A draw might have been fair but we had by far the better chances in the 2nd half. If either team deserved it, it was us.

Not the best performance but I'll take that.

This thread has been pretty embarrassing tbh, some ridiculous negativity throughout.

Still - there were some below par moments and some unimpressive performances. Of course we do have to improve, but that was loads better than Huddersfield and Cardiff.

It was a poor performance. We won so nobody cares now which is fine but we weren't good today by any stretch.

Think once we changed things we controlled it with 10 minutes to go, really don’t know why Rafa is moaning Jota would have clearly got a shot away on goal simple red card.

Just watching some replays, I reckon Boly might be in trouble because of that elbow.

Newcastle probably deserved draw - Rondon caused us problems

But red card was correct and the extra man told in the end

Jota was a right choice up front - the other 2 weren't

Doherty needs to be listed as an attacker really

Cheers xx

Newcastle were well worth a draw. Thus, our win was undeserved - glad as I am that we got it.

We had more shots on target, we created better chances than they did (Jimenez rocket off the bar),we caught them on the counter more and after they went down to 10, we always looked we would score, we kept coming at them in waves.
It wasn't an underserved win, you're talking nonsense as you've had an agenda against Nuno since the team selection came out and you don't want to admit you look daft.

Oooooooook.

Rui made multiple saves (whether they were comfortable or not) in the first half. Rondon forced him in to a good save after 40 seconds!

We looked the better side after Nuno made the changes (which is how I wanted us to start), and by making those changes Nuno has already made an admission that he got his selection wrong.

We got out of jail today. Your reaction would have been very different had we not stole a win at the end.

Fully agreed. We were the only team going to win once we made our attacking changes. Fortunately we got the goal at the death.

I would have taken a draw and been happy with a point at a tough ground, but I felt we were the better team apart from the 20 mins spell after they equalised.
Your comments in this thread about the greatest manager we have had in our lifetime are fucking embarrassing tbh.

I disagreed with his line up and said we got out of jail today - which we did. If that makes my comments “fucking embarrassing” then so be it.

Boly will be fine. I have seen those given don't get me wrong but he's not looking at the player, it's one of those where he had caught him when he raised his arms for the jump

What are you talking about "getting out of jail" :icon_lol:

We were hardly under the cosh... We always looked more likely to get the winner and we did. Fair play Nuno, another 3 points.

Even Nuno said as much -

We didn't win our duels or manage the possession of the ball.

"A draw was clearly the right result. The red card changes the game. We were lucky to beat them in the end.

It's cool if you're not comfortable with being critical when it's deserved.

Yeah Jinks but you made it sound like the game at Reading under Jackett.

It wasn't great and no-one is saying otherwise but you were incredibly harsh throughout the whole of this thread.

That's not getting out of jail Jinks. We should've won and deserved to win but it was. A bit fortunate as Newcastle defended well.

He was talking about the game up to the red card when he said a draw was the right result.
