Really?? Regardless of where we finished last season, I don't think we're 'much better' than anyone in this league really. It all looks pretty tight to me. On our day we can beat anyone anywhere, and we rarely have long barren spells points-wise, but we've been generally unspectacular in the 19/20 PL, and Newcastle have won as many games as we have

Ok'much better' is probably ott but there aren't many if any Newcastle players I'd replace any of ours with so in my mind ours are better man for man......I never mentioned last season btw

Boly being out is obviously bad for us, he’s our best defender. It’s akin to City losing Laporte or Liverpool losing van Dijk. However for this game it shouldn’t make too much difference as Newcastle are poor offensively. I hope we go at them a bit more quickly and positively from the start than we have been doing, if we can score early we’re sorted. Hopefully Bennett is back soon and we’ve seen Saiss play well in defence, if Vallejo isn’t good enough (and it appears he isn’t) then Kilman needs to be trusted.

I would agree about putting Donk in defence for games like today’s but I very much doubt we will. Hoping for a 3-4-3 today with Traore-Jiminez-Jota up top.

This for me

I think Kilman will play based on Thursday night.

It will be him or Vallejo.. very much doubt he will play Dendoncker in defence, how many times has that happened in his time at Wolves, once in a cup game maybe?

Well if your opinion of our players 'man for man' is only based on this season then it's an even more OTT analysis

I'm interested to know which Wolves player you would swap for which Newcastle player.
We're talking about this season are we not? So far this season we haven't been quite ad good and Newcastle have been much worse

The 'man for man' game was your device, I was taking issue with us being 'much better'... We have three more points than them and we've both only won 2 games, you're talking like we're Liverpool

Yes I know but I already admitted the 'much' part was a bit stupid about 5 posts ago.....me 'talking like we're Liverpool' is much the same kind of quote.......this chat is getting a bit boring now so I'll leave it there.....still think we're better man for man and significantly better in the coaching dept

I think this injury is going to test Nuno's 'lego squad'. Wily Boly is a rock. I wouldn't say I am distraught, but perhaps with the exception of Raul, I can't think of another player from the starting 11 that I'd want injured less. Time for a few players to step up, Jesus not being one of them and the flexibility of the squad to prove it's worth.

The possibilities provided by a 3 midfield-man defence are interesting, i'd just rather it be a pro active decision rather than one forced on us

I think only Patricio would be a bigger loss. It will be tough over the next few weeks I'm hoping Saiss and Bennett will be fully fit and able to fill in for the big man.

Donck at the back. 343

good attacking bench.

Those 3 forwards could be our starting 3 v Villa on Wednesday

Considering the Boly news, that is absolutely the best line up we could field. Let's fucking win.

Donck at CB will be interesting. Should be something he can handle.

Sky trying to guess at Doherty in the back three in a 3-5-2. Lol.
