Newcastle 2-1 Wolves: Verdict Thread

1st half was an abomination, but there was little to choose between the sides up until the non-penalty decision. They got it so wrong, clear penalty and a red card. But after that, until half time we were a shambles and lucky to only be 1 down.

2nd half changes we got on top and then inexplicably the manager decided to fuck everything up by going to 3 at the back. Mind-numbing decision.

Neto was a positive, I thought Semedo had another decent game, aside from that I really can't think of anyone who played particularly well.

On the negative side of the ledger, Raul, Adama, Lemina had poor games. But standout terrible performance was Jonny. A total liability. And I say it almost every week, I never, never, never want to see Podence in a Wolves shirt again. I hate him. He's awful in every possible way.

Also, we absolutely pissed around with the ball at the back. So many hospital passes and heart in mouth moments.
JLo has to change that, we cannot play out from the back at the moment. Lemina was awful in possession

Watching their 2nd goal again: Kilman, what the fuck? Schoolboy football, chasing after the ball.
Had to go out to Almiron as RAN was still in their half.

The passing out from the back went to shit with the 5 because they pushed on more, Collins is a bomb scare with the ball, Lemina had a shocker and Nunes can’t do the basics.

Not often I go full circle on my opinion but I’ll put my hands up here I defended the officials after seeing 1 replay. It’s a penalty, the onfield ref doesn’t give because he’s so far away surely the VAR officials must take that into Account? Who was on VAR?

That Harrington bloke who was shit down here the other week. Again a junior official too scared to overturn a more established ref rather than just clubbing together to get the right decision.

On the penalty not given. VAR official statement was it was clear and obvious decision by the referee not to give it. The referee was miles away from the incident so didn't have a good view, so he shouldn't be giving the decision. He should have gone to the monitor.

Funny you use the word account, the officials have no accountability. Absolutely cowardly non decision that swung the course.of the game.

Thought we started ok, the none penalty/sending off and their opener from not a free kick plus probable foul on Jonny seemed to send us into a nosedive, very lucky to end the half only one down. Second half much improved sparked by a good Neto performance (although he faded later), worked to get the equaliser then seemed lose all momentum.
The change to a back 3 worked last week but failed today.
We all know Raul struggles up front on his own now, so why no Cunha, we've looked the most threatening when they're both on.
Lemina and Dawson worst game so far, both passing under pressure (or sometimes no pressure) was pub standard at best
While I'd probably agree we could do with dropping Kilman but Collins scares the shit outta me, a bombscare on the ball (was last week too). Is he just a bog standard championship head it/kick it merchant?

The Pope incident was absolutely an abdication of duty by the referees, but we were still in position to get something out of the match 11 v 11.

When you're under pressure you need decent holdup play to get out. Raúl is simply done and it hangs the team out to dry.

Our players simply aren't good enough, by and large. We just have to scrape points when we can now.
What a load of rubbish.

Oh I forgot, where was RAN for their second, people keep telling me he's gunna be a star, I see the odd good performance with loads of no shows, still looks like he's more likely to trip over ball than create something going forward.

Out of all the teams at the bottom end of the table we must be the most boring.
The amount of passing the ball back really boils my piss.
