Not cheap but certainly cost less than any of the independants near us. Also helps if you have a friend who runs one of their franchises.

Exactly what I do and send a couple of my existing pairs of frames off to be reglazed. I’ve no interest if “fashion” frames so pretty much get same if I do need to buy a new pair.
