New - The things that really annoy you

Did get a ticket a little while back. Nightmare London traffic, stopped at lights, second in the queue, tight behind the large van at the front (no visibility other than the rear of the van).

Everyone does the traffic light Grand Prix when they change, but it’s straight into a box junction and there’s only space for the van on the other side. Bollocks. Stranded, camera, fine.

Since then in London especially I started to wait to be sure the vehicle in front has moved giving full visibility before making the decision to proceed, but fuck me, the abuse that brings. Feels like you’re trading a potential ticket for a potential stabbing and tbh now I just get moving and the ticket wins every time.

Rubbish bins. Pushing one today with the lid open. Somehow I stepped on the lid so that the bin fell back toward me while I fell forward. Nose and forehead hit the top of the bin. Nothing broken but quite a bit of blood.

That actually takes quite a bit of doing! How long is the lid?

Ta for the reminder - I need to put the bins out in a bit.

I assume the design is the same in every country. The lid reaches to about 6 inches from the ground. My foot must have just caught the tip and dragged it downwards.
More than a little embarrassing.

Done it more than once. Shit, one time at Starbucks I somehow managed to end up completely inside the bin.

I don't think I felt clean again for 6 months.

Nothing like ours, they just have a hinged lid on the top which if you open it fully just hangs down about a third of the way.

You should laugh; that shit was hilarious. The contents of the bin that I got covered in, less so.

I think that fits, Denny just had the lid open already.

AFAIK, at least in the States, the design is standardized but scales for different capacities. The aforementioned Bin Baptism at Starbucks; I think that bin was 95g/~360L. Probably could have fit two of me in that thing.
