New - The things that really annoy you

I fear to say it but have there always been sniper safaris shooting innocent people in war zones?

From the report below:

Gavazzeni added: “There were no political or religious motivations. They were rich people who went there for fun and personal satisfaction. We are talking about people who love guns who perhaps go to shooting ranges or on safari in Africa.”

He claimed the Italian suspects would meet in the northern city of Trieste and travel to Belgrade, from where the Bosnian Serb soldiers would accompany them to the hills of Sarajevo. “There was a traffic of war tourists who went to there to shoot people,” he said. “I call it an indifference towards evil.”

1st world problems but Spotify

1 for hiking prices Jeff style upwards of 25% over 2 years
2 for still not allowing basic add to next or end of queue functionality after countless years
3 for now having a podcast restart bug

Another one crossing a few threads but a heads up on something we might all need to be aware of…

So a friend in the cycling club has just had his 4 bikes stolen from his home. The bikes themselves were locked, inside his garage which itself was also locked, which is attached to his house with a joining internal door to the kitchen.

One of the bikes is a new, expensive electric mountain bike which fortunately is going to be covered by the optional independent insurance which was offered at the point of purchase. The other 3 which were fully listed and recorded as per the requirements of the bicycle cover clause within the household insurance won’t be. The reason? - there is no evidence of forced entry.

As he started asking questions, talking to the police etc it was put to him he’s likely been broken into by someone using one of these:

So for the grand sum of £13.38 someone can break into your property in seconds without leaving any sign of forced entry and your insurance company can try it on and say they’re not paying out.

Absolutely sickening, the poor guy feels like he’s been robbed twice. As with any burglary there’s the sense of violation, the doubt as to whether these things are worth replacing in case it just tempts the scumbags back again, but the insurance company’s kick in the teeth is really a blow too far.

That’s a cruel move from them and I’m not even sure what we can do about it, but it’s worth knowing this is going on and maybe having a look at the small print or at least asking the question at time of renewal.

That's absolutely outrageous. Both the insurer's response, and the fact you can buy shit like that so easily!
