Why wouldn't we be interested in Martins?

He's a Mendes client, he's available, he speaks Portuguese.....i just can't see why he wouldn't be?

More a case of who is before him on the list.

Who are Mendes's manager clients?

Carvahal, Karanka, Martins, Lage, Mourinho, Nuno, Gattuso, Conceicao

Who else?

Note the "not currently" bit in the press stuff.

We have targets ahead of him. Let's see if we bag one of them or end up doing a Spurs and get Nuno as our 10th choice

Idea floated on Twitter by someone...we muddle along with Davis/Collins to the World Cup break, Lopetegui has had his family time and joins us in December...

I'm not endorsing this as a plan, just throwing it out there.

I mean it's possible with this lot but we could easily be in (even more) desperate trouble by then.

Would need Davis to win a couple quickly though. Do we have room to gamble on that

Which would be Sergio Conceicao.

And I'm not sure he leaves Porto for us with where we are.
He's not exactly enamoured with their board atm as he's had his best players sold and not replaced (including his own son :ROFLMAO:). He's done a brilliant job again this year considering the circumstances.

He's been there a long time as well so might be looking for a new 'project'.

This was my concern a few days ago, we absolutely don't have time to do this. We need to pick up points in the next 10 days, and need a proper manager appointed to help with that

It's just so risky though isn't it?

Lop's issues might be sorted in a week, it might take 3 months!

Wouldn't surprise me though, the decision making of Shi and Sellars hasn't been great lately.

I think we saw enough against Chelsea to see that he doesn't really know how to set up a team at this level. Launching the ball up for Adama Traoré to win flick ons isn't exactly the mark of a tactical genius.

Reeks of desperation.

He said 'No', he's turned us down once before, both parties need to move on

I did wonder if that's why Shi flew over to propose something like that

Not even Shi would be that stupid.

It’s a ridiculous idea and one that would seal relegation by the WC.

Yes but they only had the squad a couple of days, they'll have had another full week working with them by Saturday, might have us purring by then (maybe howling). OK I'm a bit desperate to inject some positivity.

To be fair the lad who said it didn't say it was a good idea, he just backed Lopetegui at 6/1 and wondered if they'd still pay out in that situation :D (they would, 10 games is normally the cut off for a caretaker/interim counting)

I just feel like it might be Nuno. Not sure why and I've got nothing to back that up, it just wouldn't surprise me.
