Getting the result without deserving it in the slightest and no one really understanding how we’d done it, was more my point…
Yeah I know, just throwing in that in the mixer because I am bored already

A pain he lost that ability to win without deserving it sometime in April. It was quite handy

A comeback and 3 goals! Pretty much the opposite of his time at Wolves
You could almost be forgiven for forgetting that was under Lage. I certainly had to think and make sure it was him!

Lage will want to play Villa every week - 6 points and 5 goals from them last season

Think it was Johnny that pointed out his tactics were good enough at the start of games, his in game management was terrible.
Indeed that Brentford game showed it to a tee, we started brightly and pretty much in charge for 20 minutes, then 2 mistakes cost us and it went downhill fast, bizarre subs and not keeping our shit together when they went full on timewasting, fucking shambles.
Anyway all history, I'm very much looking forward to the swashbuckling tenure of JL.

Probably not that important, but he just doesn't have the personality for a number one from what I can see.

Seems (bad) weird and twitchy and he's never been any kind of coherent or inspirational figure. As someone (DW?) said, no gravitas. And all that covering his face with his hand and puffing during a game is a poor look
I don't think there was ever a connection with the fans or the city (well nothing like Nuno). I'd not seen or heard of any interaction with Lage outside of Molinuex with fans.

Found it weird that after being sacked he shared a clip on Instagram of the Neves Villa goal.

Leeds was the worst failing I have ever seen of a manager not being able, or even aware of the situation and doing something to change it.

Awful.
As bad as his decision making was that day, the players on the pitch were equally to blame. Slicing simple balls into the air, a keeper doing a Paul Jones tribute act, Mout bollocking balls into no mans land when he had 2 or 3 passing options available to him.
Everyone had a fucking mare and it killed the season dead.

Im not having that as being on the players, no way, that was 100% on Bruno not playing anyone in a centre forward position which was key to how we had set up, there was no release from Leeds attack and once Leeds worked that out the game swung in their favour. If there was any panic from the players it was because everything they were doing was set up for a Centre forward.

It killed that game dead, by the time he'd actually done something to change it the game had passed us by.

So Sa triple flapping, Saiss backwards slicing a simple clearance and Mout looking at 3 players and then bollocking it 40 yards beyond them all is because of how we set up?
How about, Lage made a fuck up and the players made fuck ups. They were as big an embarrassment as their manager in that 2nd half. Not having them hidden behind Lage on that one.
They crumbled and gave up

Who is supposed to add the calmness to the situation? Who is supposed to take away the panic? Who is supposed to rearrange the formation to give an out ball? 100% on Lage that game, he set the tone.

My post in the immediate aftermath, my view hasn't changed apart from the sacking part

Don't really want to go in on something from months ago and the man behind it is no longer here. But you would hope a collection of experienced international players would be able to cope with a situation without thinking they were playing the ball is lava

As with everything on here, all about opinions innit. Maybe it was the evening the players collectively thought "fuck this shit with him" and switched their brains off and gave up (rest of the games that followed probably back that up more than my half arsed attempts to call them gutless in that moment)

Anyway, where the fuck is JL and why is he even bothering to piss around sorting out a team for tonight. He could be in Wolverhampton being stalked by a man up a tree instead.

They were leaderless and it showed, he did literally nothing. If you think that didn't effect the players then I would question why we've changed managers as they should surely be able to cope whoever the manager is.

Mamagers/Coaches are there to lead the players and that includes reacting to an situation that arises on the pitch.

I had my doubts about Bruno up to that point but that confirmed for me he was a chancer.

The timing is all part of what is on the one hand a pretty logical batting order and on the other something that's quite odd ("macabre" in one report). It's eliciting sympathy in the local press and a quick mood change from pitchforks out to appreciation of his time.

Martins going to Hull it seems too
