Weghorst was bought as a replacement for Wood, they were in a relegation battle, hardly the time to change style. If you look at who he signed in his last year with Burnley it was a tall centre forward, a left winger, a strong centre back and a full back with legs (Weghorst, Cornet, Collins and Roberts) for about 45m. There isn't an alternative style hidden away, when he's had the opportunity and finances to do that he's chosen not to. He is what he is
That's not what I said though.I’m not banging a drum for Dyche but these four signings are hardly a reason to write him off.
Of the he four players you named only Weghorst fits the Dyche stereotype. Every team wants a strong CH, Cornet would fit well in many PL teams and Robert’s was a good value fullback. That's not what I said though.
It's not about the quality of the signings it's about the perception that he only played a certain style because of the players he had, but he only ever signed players to suit that style. That is him
Picking another year at random 2019/20. Josh Brownhill, Jay Rod, Erik Pieters and Danny Drinkwater. Same pattern. Legs in midfield, centre forward who is good in the air and tough tacking full back
I live for this shit on Twitter
I don’t tend to agree. He’s signing players that fit the style they have. They’re not a team who can afford a massive overhaul. Signing 1 or 2 players who don’t fit in with the mould of the majority, especially when you are battling relegation every year, wouldn’t work.If you look at who he signed in his last year with Burnley it was a tall centre forward, a left winger, a strong centre back and a full back with legs (Weghorst, Cornet, Collins and Roberts) for about 45m. There isn't an alternative style hidden away, when he's had the opportunity and finances to do that he's chosen not to. He is what he is
I think any team in the PL is a more attractive proposition than any team in the Championship. We were an outlier, a complete anomoly when we brought in the likes of Neves, Jota and Boly and romped the league.
I think with Burnley the players they signed very much seemed to fit a hard wage cap they had imposed.
So whilst they spent resources on fees they looked like they were never out the bottom 3 on wage spend from a quick search (I know that's not always accurate but it's a start most of the sites having them so low)
A certain poster from this very forumWho do you think it is?
Looks a bit like Mark....Who do you think it is?
The former Sevilla player remains Wolverhampton owner Jeff Shi's No. 1 choice. Although he has come to receive the no of the Spanish on two occasions, which forced him to bet on Steve Davis until the end of the course, the leader is not satisfied with the results harvested and wants it to be the former Porto, Sevilla and Real Madrid who takes the reins.
To convince him, he has offered him a millionaire contract, total control of the sports management and a strong investment in the winter market. In the coming days there will be a new meeting in which Wolves hope to convince Lopetegui, who after a few weeks of stoppage in his career could return to the bench with an attractive project at the same time risky.
