New Manager Search *BACK ON*

I agree, but do clubs often change their senior team and direction so radically at this point in a season?

I'd be very surprised if Shi reacts to yesterday by getting rid of Sellars or reigniting the manager search tbh. Both would be massive u-turns and admission of judgement failure on his behalf?

They fucked up the manager search on its own, I can't see them even attempting to recruit for two senior positions simultaneously, let alone successfully
Sadly I agree with you. But good leadership involves change at speed and good decision making.

Time for Shi to step up to that plate or fuck off.

Dalrymple and Thelwell both found work pretty quickly didn't they, ie before they actually left Wolves. That aligns itself with it being their decision to leave rather than being turfed out, or maybe they're just super in demand and walk into high level jobs at the drop of a hat.

I don't see the malicious intent from Fosun that others do, particularly in regard to Shi, they're incompetent more than sinister. Their football club ownership model revolves entirely around Mendes and Gestifute, he got them into football, they don't go down any other route because they don't know any other way.

That's incorrect, Dalrymple was put on leave then got the gig at Harlequins.

You don't need to be sacked to feel your job is untenable and search for a new opportunity

Beale turning us down probably demonstrates his football knowledge; he'll have looked at the squad and thought, despite there being plenty of technical ability there, that there's just not enough demonstrable evidence of footballers that influence games with goals and assists.

We need to spend c£30m on a striker on January 1st to have a hope of staying up.
We need to fuck this 'no outstanding candidates' bollocks off, and get a proper manager.
We need to fuck Sellars off for an actual DOF; Ragnik?

But we will be really fucking unattractive to all three, we stink of decline and are quite obviously a fucking basket case of a football club, with a clueless CEO and owners that don't give a fuck.

I'd love to look for positives, but I can't see any of those elements coming off, or even being robustly attempted.

As startling as it is to say, we look to me destined to finish rock bottom of the league if we follow this trajectory we're on. I have an awful feeling Shi and Co can't see this though

I worry about next season too, the championship is an unforgiving league....

I don't think bouncing straight back is in any way a certainty, and you wonder how we would fare

Doesn't mean they were intentionally forced out either though does it? Did Fosun/Shi actively make their positions untenable to force them out or was it just an over reliance in Mendes/Gestifute that made those two think it was pointless working for Wolves?

All this talk of the need for a new DoF or CEO is pointless, it's not even on the agenda for Fosun, this is their model and has been since the start, built entirely around Mendes. Thelwell and Dalrymple were sidelined as incumbents and the calibre of internal promotions to replace them shows how importantly Fosun view those roles.

I thought we were maybe all going back to look at our initial thoughts seen as I was nudged in that direction. Guess we don't all need to check how right or wrong we were then. 🤷🏻‍♂️

I don't think Fosun or Shi have dismantled anything, people have left the business of their own accord and they just haven't been adequately replaced. Whether that's because they just don't know how or are so invested in Mendes' football advice that they don't think it matters.

Again that Mendes relationship goes above Shi, that's all the way to the top of Fosun, Shi has no background in sport to act on his own knowledge outside of that. For all we know he's sending his concerns back up the food chain and being told that Gestifute is the Fosun link to football so stick with that, we don't know whether he's got the authority to move away from it and bring in better people at board level even if he wants to.

I don't think there's any conspiracy around Mendes, he's doing no different with Wolves than he had with a bunch of other clubs before but he's just got closer to ties here. At the outset Wolves were bottom of the pecking order of his clubs so they were going to be very unfortunate to get a dud, now they're in the most competitive league of any of them and it's more difficult to find the upgrades. Mendes moving around whoever is convenient/profitable for him isn't the targeted recruitment you need at this level. What was once a fairly symbiotic relationship, although always self centred on Mendes' behalf, is now very one sided.

I think the Nuno era is as much good fortune as anything else. The first roll of the Fosun/Gestifute dice was toss, half the players flopped and the managers were rubbish. Under Nuno there was a squad and a coach that were on the same page and everything went great for a while but then they found it difficult to evolve. Then we got another roll of the dice and it's more like what we saw the first time round, players coming in aren't really fitting the profile required to solve the problems in the squad and the management situation has become a farce.

Fosun have backed the wrong horse.
wtf

That's because rather than wanking themselves senseless at the schadenfreude some people genuinely care about what is happenning at the club, have its best interests at heart and want to see things fixed

So they wank themselves silly shouting down a well instead?

The joys of the ignore function on a day like today cannot be understated.

Non-Wolves fans posting to just troll actual fans used to get mods attention.

You've said before that you don't understand how people get passionate about football, so it's pointless trying to explain what is an abstract concept to you

Never used it until I saw your post

Thankfully I’m free of markakajim for ever 🙂

The suggestion that there are players in the dressing room who are anti Nuno.........I wonder who they are ?

I wonder are there enough of them to prevent him coming ?

Going back to the statement that Shi released when he sacked Lage - he clearly stated in that statement that the present situation ( as it was then ) could not be allowed to continue . Since then things have got progressively worse both on the field and off the field in the two rejections .
Therefore , regardless of the errors that have been made , he clearly realises the importance of remaining in the Premier League and the disaster that relegation would be .
It's an evolving situation . He didn't see the crowd reaction yesterday coming as they had been so quiet up until now .
Collins's interview afterwards spoke volumes too .
To have any chance of surviving you need to react as early in the season as possible to a crisis . It's still October .
The biggest concern I have is that even with a very good Manager , who is given leeway and money to spend , they will still have to work with the majority of the players presently in situ . I simply do not see enough workhorses in that group to dig in and get us out of this hole . I can't see the leaders either .

I find it hard to believe that we're actually going to wait until 2023 before employing an actual manager, but either way it's fucking embarrassing from a PR perspective.

Not anymore I would suggest . The situation is changing by the minute I would suggest .
Sometimes you need a thrashing at home and be completely embarrassed , not to mention the crowd reaction , to get a proper response .

Some suggestions that Villa are talking to Emery ?

It's nothing to do with passion but logic. Fosun's football leadership is Mendes, if people want different leadership then they need to be chasing new ownership, railing ay Shi or Sellars is a waste of time.
