Manchester United (A) 22.09.2018

Am out tomorrow - whilst in past appearances in this league I would have written this game off I am not this time

Will be looking forward to seeing the result when I come back in unlike other times when I would be logging on later to see how many we had lost by (we may still lose, but expect us to give them a real fight/scare this time rather than just trying to hold back the horde)

There's every chance we can get something there, every chance. If Jota and Costa fire we can really cause them some problems at the back with Raul pulling Smalling and Lindelof all over the place. If Fellaini and Fred start with Pogba I can see Moutinho and Neves being able to dictate our play from the middle which will be a massive bonus. Mad to think this is Wolves we're talking about.

We will create chances - just need to take them then anything is possible

The back 4 have dealt with most they have thrown at them so far - pretty sure that MU attack is no better than the one that MC put out

If both teams perform to their maximum they win. If they have an off day and we perform to our best we take something. That's progress from last time!

Lawrenson has us losing again. We would have no points this year according to that cunt. Fucking twat. Pisses me off every week whiny Preston loving tit

NO. We would have three points. He predicted us to win 2-1 against Everton on the first day.

It's a bizarre circumstance when you think there's a case to be made that we have a better central midfield than they do.

Better defence too IMO but that's still to be proved. DeGea shades Rui but the rest? Rojos shit Lindelhof not great.

Keeper

De Gea 1 Patricio 0. Harsh but you are talking the best in the world (or maybe second if Neuer hears about this post) against top ten. Both brilliant.

Defence - I think we are close, especially with our well drilled system

Central midfield - Pogba is a rolls royce. Magnificent. But we have Moutinho and Neves there. It isn't a walkover.

Wide - I think we are close

Centre Forward - Lukaku is a mile ahead of what we have, as are probably a couple of their other options.

Fair

Can't argue with that.

No disgrace to lose to Man utd I would love to really test them and take something rather than park the bus and sneak a point. I don't see wolves 2018 as a park the bus team. We don't have the players for it.

I would disagree we don't have the players to park the bus. Fortunately we don't have the manager to do so.

I think we can approach this game with confidence but not expectation. It's not unrealistic to suggest we can walk away with 3 points but it's more likely that Man U will edge this.

Heading over the Manchester in 45 mins, odd to be heading to Old Trafford not fearing for the worst!

We gotta win now I had a drunken bet (at evens) and gave him the draw. I reckon that £10 is as good as in the bank :crossfingers:

Great to see SAF is attending today - his first match since his emergency surgery.

He always has had a soft spot for us as well. I remember well his press conference back in the day when we were just back "The Premier League needs Wolves".

I hope he enjoys his day but not the result!

I just watched on youtube a 19 minute preview of ManUtd v Wolves it had Lee Dixon in it so I suspect it was from BTSport. I mistakenly thought it it would be about both teams as implied in the title what I got was about 18 minutes all about Man UTD and Jose Mourinho. Wolves got a quick mention in the last minute. It would be a close game with United just edging the win. Why did I bother?

It's hardly surprising Vic. Give it time with our plans and ambitions and those previews will hopefully get more balanced in a couple of years.

Seems to be quite a lot of expectation on us today tbh, here and social meejah. I know this is our best team for decades, and not exactly vintage Manchester United, but they're still very healthy favourites for a reason. A point would be an excellent result for us

SAF being there will generate a better atmosphere. Whether that makes a difference I'm not sure
