I'd love for there to be better catering options around - you look at some of the stalls you get at gourmet street food fairs these days, they're spectacular - but realistically not enough people give a shit. They either don't eat at the game (I don't) or they'll buy whatever's cheapest and easiest.

Not going to get many Wolves fans paying £7-8 for a burger no matter how good it is. Although they seemingly lose their minds inside the ground and pay any money for utter dreck. Can never get my head around that. Do not buy sweets off Wolves FFS, Asda sell the same thing for about 20% of the price, go there first if you really must, it's right there.

Best in-ground catering I've ever seen is Kidderminster. Absolutely top notch stuff. No idea how they make it all stack up financially, mind.

Nothing wrong with burger van food. But isn’t a basic cheeseburger like £5 minimum. If I really wanted food Id get a meal deal from greggs or if burger is your thing then McDonald’s/KFC where for the same price I get a better burger with chips and a drink.

Just going off some of the specialist food places I've been to. £8 sounds a lot for a burger but it was incredible, would easily pay that for a proper Turkish kebab too. If I were arsed about eating at the football.

I never quite get that too, can you not go a couple of hours without grazing at food (as an adult)...same in the cinema. I don't sit down on the sofa and line up a mountain of snacks and drinks when I'm watching a film, why would I do it in a public venue...but people do!

Yeah street food at like Digbeth and stuff I’ll happily pay £8-10 for. But it’s actually good. Marginally less from a burger van, no thanks. I’d be all over it at £3 but they don’t charge that. They get the mugs passing by. It’s a bit like petrol stations on the motorway, you should only be using that if you’re really desperate and I’m not sure the same applies with food in a city centre!

An ex of mine was endlessly whining in Manchester Airport once about being hungry and that she wanted to go to Burger King. I gave in.

£20+ for a couple of burger and chips and this was ages ago. Mid 2000s. Was fucking shit too, even by BK standards.

Openly seething for the first couple of days of the holiday and I'm not even taking any blame for those days being ruined, don't do stupid things to annoy me. It's not even the money, it's the principle.

Best I have had is at Woking - concession given over to a local fish & chip shop. Superb & no more than you would normally pay in one.

Club supplied the kitchen in the main stand (well the only modern one anyway) but people who knew what they were doing cooking it. Full range that you would normally have elsewhere.

BK on the way back from Espanyol was horrific price wise (especially when €/£ is basically 1:1), but hangover was kicking in, hadn’t eaten all day and had work the next day. It was essential and great. I do like BK though.

I liked BK in Germany, not so keen here for some reason.

I've paid about £3 for a can of Coke in an airport before when massively hungover, sometimes you've got to do what you've got to do. What annoyed me on that occasion is we were in central Manchester not an hour beforehand, right outside M&S Fresh and I asked if she wanted owt. No.

I have a much better girlfriend now.

Yeah but you can buy a Maccies any old time. This is right outside the ground and is part of the matchday experience.

Wasn't there high hopes that the concourse food was going to improve when the company that does Spurs took over? Haven't made a game since being in the Prem so don't know first hand...
Van burgers are a special treat though, but I can't resist a balti lava pie.

It got a lot better in the Steve Bull. £5 for a sausage roll was a lot but it was bloody lovely.

another in favour of some decent street food options being available, although in reality, I don't tend to eat at a game because I'm not a fan of salmonella van food.

do love the occasional journey to digbeth dining club though.
tangentally, i think they are having to relocate as they're losing their current venue. however on a good note they've also announced a more permanent location in longbridge which is closer to me!

Will have to go, though will be a sombre moment as my friend who passed in january will only be there in spirit.
