Loan Watch 2022/2023

Rock solid defensively again aswell. He could play left back in the prem for me, especially for a side who dominate the ball.

She said he was better than RAN. He isn't

He's miles better going forward, for all RAN's ability with the ball at his feet he chronically under delivers. I actually think he's much better defensively than attacking.

He isn't better but at least he puts a fucking cross in without trying to do 50 stepovers.

He’s picked that ball out as well, not just a hit and hope

He's a full back, Giles is a wing back. As much as some posters-well one in particular like to think they are essentially the same position they aren't. Although RAN absolutely needs to improve his (lack of) delivery

I see no reason why Giles couldn't play left back. He's got all the attributes you'd want from a modern full back which, let's be honest is more and more about their attacking output than outright defending.

Giles whipping balls onto Sasa's head next season then!

From the weekend:

Dion Sanderson - Birmingham (Championship)

Played a full game at Preston in a 1-0 win.

Ryan Giles - Middlesbrough (Championship)

Played the full game for Boro in a big derby win over Sunderland and got another assist, his fourth of the season and third game in a row.

Theo Corbeanu - Blackpool (Championship)

Played 76 minutes of a 1-0 away at Huddersfield and got the winner, as posted earlier, his third in four games.

Taylor Perry - Cheltenham (League 1)

Played 88 minutes at Port Vale in a 2-2 draw and scored a first-half own goal when the ball came to him from a corner and he messed up the clearance.

Nigel Lonwijk - Plymouth Argyle (League One)

Played a full game as Argyle came back from two down to win 3-2 at Derby. Was caught upfield for the first they conceded, then was tricked by his opponent for the second, so not the best of games.

Lewis Richards - Harrogate (League Two)

Played an hour of their 2-1 defeat at Sutton before being subbed off.

Louie Moulden - Solihull Moors (National League)

Played as Moors beat Altrincham 5-1 and apparently pulled off some great saves

Joe Young - Dartford (National League South)

Played vs Chippenham in a 2-1 defeat, let a penalty slip through his arms.

Bendeguz Bolla and Hayao Kawabe - Grasshoppers Zurich (Swiss Super League)

Both started this 3-0 win, but Bolla was subbed off at half time. Kawabe played 80 minutes and scored their third, a first-time finish from 12 yards out. He had another shot go wide later on too.

Kawabe’s goal around 2:50

Fabio Silva - Anderlecht (Belgian Premier)

Played a full game and got his sixth goal of the season, the equaliser in a 2-2 draw with OHL. Cracking finish, as posted earlier.

On as sub: Marques came on after 20 mins to make his debut at Shrews because of an injury but finished on the losing side. Luke Cundle came on for the last 15 mins of Swans’ 1-0 win over QPR. Hoever came on for the last 15 minutes of PSV’s 2-1 loss at Twente.

Unused sub: Arinbjornsson

Not in squad: Jordao, Sang-Bin, O’Shaughnessy, Campana (injured).

That's good to hear on Marques. A good season or two out on loan at Lg1 then Champ and he'll be Kilman's replacement when we sell him for £70m to Chelsea 😁

I'd be disappointed if we were only getting £70m from Chelsea for Kilman in two years time ;) Given their other signings, I think £70m would have been his value this summer

Fabz on DAZN 3 if anyone else is desperate

Quick update from the weekend:

Hayao Kawabe - Grasshoppers Zurich (Swiss Super League)

Bolla missed out through injury but Kawabe won a penalty which his colleague scored…was in vain though as GHZ got walloped 5-1 at Basel.

Fabio Silva - Anderlecht (Belgian Premier)

Played a full game again but had no joy as Anderlecht, their third in four league games

Ki-Jana Hoever - PSV (Eredivisie)

Back in the starting line-up after his sulk and played an hour in a 1-0 win over RKC. Whipped in a great ball for a header that was disallowed.

Unused subs: Sang-Bin
Not in squad: Campana, Bolla, Jordao.
