Bath will always be a rugby town so would be kinda pointless anyway.
I was there last year on a Saturday when England were playing and every pub/bar was rammed with it on the telly. Had to go back to my accommodation and wait for it to finish before I could get a drink anywhere.
Bath City record gate is 18,000 odd so the fans did come out SOMETIMES.
Obviously now the gates are properly rubbish and have been for many years but nostalgic me thinks they could have sustained solid fourth division gates without too much worry had they got in.
It very much is a rugby CITY. Best Rugby club in England for my vote (although I am sure Leicester Tigers fans would argue the toss on that one).
We can agree that the re-election system was absolute nonsense and Bath were probably unfortunate that a proper league system didn't get implemented until they were a few years past their peak. As were Enfield.
Lincoln were the first team to go down via league position and Scarborough replaced them in 1987. It had just been nearly 10 years before that since Southport went via a vote.
It's overdue that the National League is made a proper 5th division in all honesty. Pretty much everyone in that league is fully pro and that's been the case for a long time. Then keep the tier below that regionalised.
