Live Match Discussion 2025/26

Just coming to post this.

Equalise 32 concede 34
Equalise 82 concede 83.
This one is seared into my memory (I went, these being the days before it was statistically underlined that if you're traveling to Huddersfield to watch Wolves, you require psychiatric help)

That might also be the worst "leap" I've ever seen from a keeper from whoever it is in nets for Huddersfield, it's hardly a steepling lob from Keano :D )

Burnley equalise in the last minute of injury time and we have to have 5 mins+ of VAR to decide if it's a goal or not. The game has eaten itself

Not astounding if you use basic maths :D

It takes ages to happen, think about it, if you were to be relegated with 10 games left you'd have to be 31 points adrift of 17th come late Feb/early March, and quite often of late (not this season) 17th hasn't managed much more than 31 points in the entire season.

Derby were mathematically relegated on 29 March 2008 with 6 games left and in that season 17th place (Fulham) got 36 points.
It feels astounding, then, given we all gave up on the season months ago.

I'm not saying we have a serious chance at 17th or anything, to be clear.

Or is it?! Handball😂 Even funnier given Ashley Barnes was the scorer. Difficult to believe it was clear and obvious given the time taken.

It's not though is it. You're talking about mathematical certainty.

It's well within the realms of mathematical possibility for Chelsea to win the league, especially if they win tomorrow, but they are 750/1 with the bookies for a reason and all their fans knew they weren't lifting the title months ago.

Disallowed for handball after a 4 minute VAR check, finishes 4-3 to Brentford

The more I think about it, the more I think a "five replays" threshold is the way to go. That way you get rid of the stupid Abraham goal Villa got in the non-VAR FA Cup tie (one replay needed there) but you should keep delays down to a minute or two at best. And if you can't tell after that many then you're never going to tell.

Special rule if it's Ashley Barnes, use any technology necessary to deny that wanker anything nice.
