Live Match Discussion 2024/25

Picked up a knock with Portugal.

Nowt serious but probably would have been rested for today anyway

What on earth is Bissouma doing there? Blocking his keepers view and playing everyone at the back post on side

More complete b/s as Southampton have their second goal chalked off. I thought it was offside initially but it got the green light.. and then Armstrong is ruled offside after the ball passed behind him.

He literally forces a defender to track him and probably affects the positioning of the keeper, this as he is trying to scorpion kick it and misses it by a fraction.

The operators of VAR really make things unnecessarily complicated. It was clear Armstrong attempted to play the ball and equally clear he was offside. The decision should have taken 10 seconds not closer 10 minutes!

Yep it’s pretty clear it’s offside he affects the positioning of 2 BHA players and there’s zero daylight between the ball and his legs.
The keeper has to set himself in the anticipation that Armstrong might make contact by the time it’s gone past him it’s to late to re-position. The social media outrage is just daft.

Weird side Brighton, currently sitting second in the Premier League and yet they’re a team we should be easily competing with, just shows how things have been fucked up this season.

Then the shin pads aren't doing their job. Want to stop kids risking a leg break, you stop Grealish and Dibling entering the pitch

So the keeper admits Armstrong didn't make a difference. For me, it's a good goal.

It’ll probably become a non contact sport by the time I’m ready to pop my clogs, I blame Arsene Wenger.

Tough! He's in an offside position and he tries to play the ball. Therefore he's offside.

The main problem was VAR taking five minutes to establish whether Archer was offside when it was completely irrelevant.

The keeper is watching the ball across, it’s quite clear. If Armstrong isn’t there then he’s scrambling across straight Away as the only person to tap it home is Archer. He probably isn’t saving it regardless but that’s not the point. The whole VAR implementation is shocking but that’s a different question.

If Chirewa was interfering for Kilman then this is interfering way more than that was.
