We’ve recently had “banter” written into our work HR policies which basically says if someone was to call you a twat and you’re not offended by it, someone who may have overheard it can be offended on your behalf.

Nah, I think someone made Alan feel like a hypocrite for using it during a debate a couple of weeks ago and in a bid to grow into a better human being, Alan has now decided to not use it as an insult moving forward.

Apologies if I'm wrong. But seriously Alan, just use it as an insult - no one will think any less of you, my friend.

If I’m going to be a hawk about language in the way that I am, I don’t feel like it would be right for me to pick and choose, personally. Gotta at least be logically consistent in my crusades.

It's really rare to hear Americans say twat. Though on Veep, Selina uses it quite a lot (amongst some spectacular insults) but it really annoys me that she pronounces it Twot (as in what) rather than Twat (as in hat)
