TBH I’d be pretty pissed off if I’d travelled from Warsaw to Birmingham with a ticket to be told that I’m not allowed into the ground.
As paddy says I think a lot are UK based polish fans,

How has Alfreton v Walsall only just been called off 5 minutes before kick off?! It was -6°C when I woke up this morning and it's only just getting above zero now.

I guess there was a lot of pressure to try and get it on with it being a TV game

Wimps

Are Albion fans protesting or something?

Just popped on their game expecting to see a packed stadium but unless the official Albion Xmas jumper looks like a blue seat its a fairly empty stadium

They struggle to get many more than their hardcore at the best of times. When they went up in 2001/02 they didn't even average 21k.

Is there ever a conversation over there that there might be too many clubs in the pyramid? Not that you could really do anything non-malicious to adjust.

Not really, not on any level that's ever going to make any difference.

Why? Crowds in our second tier are better than most (all?) Second tiers in the rest of the world aren't they?
Merely a curiosity. There’s a ton of clubs per capita, seems like.

No-one else maintains four professional tiers, the Conference is virtually all full-time too these days so it's essentially five even though that's classed as non-league.

It won't change though, not in my lifetime anyway.

This is good though isn't it? Not bad, why would there be an effort to change it?
You could argue it's unsustainable for say, Walsall - hemmed in by four far bigger clubs who they can never overtake - to have a professional team, they're all loss-making to a point at that level and the money has to come from somewhere.

I wouldn't necessarily agree with that argument but it's one that could easily be made.

No, 40 years ago maybe when crowds were very low but they was due to hooliganism, recession, minor strikes etc
I think most league 2 clubs average at 2k at least, just takes prudent running of those clubs and balancing their books. Most do it very well apart from a few clowns.

If you look at my old home of Hamburg:

HSV and St Pauli are obviously full-time (HSV being historically way bigger). Altona and Norderstedt who play in or just outside the city are not and probably never will be, there is not room for three or more professional clubs.

Hamburg has a population of 2,000,000 or so not counting the surrounding areas. Officially they say it's 5,000,000 for the Metropolitan area but that includes bits that I'd say have nothing to do with Hamburg.

Berlin (Hertha and Union) and Munich (Bayern and 1860), same deal.

It amazes me how a lot of the Scottish teams keep going, their attendances are miniscule.
