BHA losing at home again don’t think they’ve won at home in ages,

Guess who their next home game is...

Spurs v Fulham has gone now. PL games played now starting to look like an uneven mess.

Definitely a postponement coming up, can't see a two week break working as this virus is just getting everywhere. No way every player and staff member from every club is going to isolate for two weeks, they wouldn't be able to train. They're obviously coming into contact with carriers as it is, I really can't see a two week break stopping that.

The PL will try and kick the can down the road as long as possible. Problem occurs ie with city when their fixtures start to back log.
A postponement of more than 2 weeks would mean something drastic would need implemented. The league is due to finish on the 23/05 Euros start on 11/06 zero room for manoeuvre their. If the same occurs across the continent I could see the Euros being scrapped considering there’s no official host nation but can’t see UEFA allowing that. PL will either need to come up with drastic plan to conclude the season.

Yeah the repercussions are virtually impossible to find a workaround to, but if we keep getting postponements due to infections they’ll have no other choice. Thankfully how they get around it is their problem and not mine as I’d have no idea how to solve it. Personally I’d just scrap the Euros but can’t see that happening without a fight.

Financially I don't think UEFA can afford to cancel it. Too much money tied up in sponsorship

How much chance that this season actually concludes properly now given the timing of other events

FA cup is in major doubt, most radical solution I came up with is everyone completes their first 19 games then split the league between top and bottom half would save 9 fixtures needed to be played not ideal but only workable way. Or remove international break in March. WCQ reduced to one fixture against each side only.

Main problem with that is some teams have already got 'catch up' games to go which has been exacerbated by postponements this week.

You’d spend the first week allowing catch up playing ie Saturday, Tuesday & Friday. Then bring everyone else in it’s not ideal but it’s workable.
By all accounts the PL and EFL have no intention of stopping until they’re told to so by the authorities.

There is a very reasonable argument for vaccinating players asap. They themselves are no more deserving than anyone else, but professional sport is very much a public benefit when everyone has to stay at home.

Where do you draw the line though? There are what, max 2m people who watch a live football match? You’d get much better returns by vaccinating the cast of Eastenders.

I read that as assassinate for some reason and was about to like your post...
