Live Match Discussion: 2020/21

Doesn’t get given as a FK anywhere else on the pitch and would be called a good tackle.

touches his left foot no doubt, but it’s that forensic analysis again. My bigger issue is that Mountinhos second yellow isn’t forensically analysed. The dive before Mounts FK last season is ignored. I can handle today’s not being a penalty if the ref hasn’t given it.

That "foul" on Mings is annoying me more and more today. Even in real time, with a shit TV angle, at full speed - it looked a fucking ridiculous decision.

Penalty 20 seconds later (yes I know it was our own fault).

Not true, Dean gave all sorts yesterday, wrongly as both you and Dan point out.

You can't touch the opponent before the ball in the area. Salah got a pen for it earlier in the season.

It's a double standard.

Dean was an idiot. Some of the penalties from the other games were also farcical. It’s become a league of penalties and the stats for it are ridiculous. If minimal contact is now a pen when forensically analysed then the games screwed.

Like I said. If the ref thought it was a pen, then it can stay a pen. What I can’t take is looking for pens in slow motion from minimal contact every week

Come on now. That's not a penalty.

It's a disgraceful decision, if his hands aren't there it still hits his chest. Should have been overturned but no way it was ever going to be.

But they are given and Dean will always give them.

At least have consistency and call all of them or none of them because the referees are getting them all wrong at the moment.

Fabinho hits Cav's foot before the ball and it is a pen considering what has gone before. The handball rule and interpretation also looks to be random.

One thing is for certain Liverpool are benefiting more than most.

Sorry but did I live in a bubble between 1988 and 2019 or was the handball rule/interpretation perfectly fine then?

Why did it need to be messed with?

Why do we have ludicrous decisions like that nearly every week? And it costs jobs in the end. It's beyond belief.

Jokeshop stuff one again.

Fulham have been impressive - plenty of talent in their squad if they can settle down with a consistent XI.

The handball rule was always interpretation and I believe the Henry handball changed it.

It's nonsensical now.

The Sky commentators almost sounded disappointed that Liverpool didn’t go onto win it.

New handball rules were bought in to fit into VAR which is utter bollocks, comparing it some of the penalties you didn’t get prior to VAR. ie Fulham on Boxing Day 2018.

Just seen footage of the Fabinho tackle from behind the goal, looks like it’s man before ball so I think Fulham can feel a bit aggrieved

The level of bias in this league is quite frankly embarrassing nowadays. And not just from the group of refs. Commentators and pundits are guilty of it as well.
Commentary yes it’s atrocious, co-comms they should limit the amount of times a former play is working on a former clubs game. Tyldsley last week treated us the same way he would treat San Marino if they were playing at Wembley.
Refs have gone lazy with VAR and close ranks culture has developed amongst them and former refs. Peter Walton on BT is waste of time always agrees with the referees call.
