Live Match Discussion: 2020/21

How am I literally having the football equivalent of this discussion?

If this were say, Middlesbrough who'd just panned Roma then I might sort of see the point.

You could not see a point I made if I made it with a rapier

I'll carry on being critical of them, they're not very good (despite an insane spend - remember, they have defenders that cost well in excess of £200m, and they still can't really defend) and they're absolutely nowhere near winning a league title.

I wouldn't expect Wolves to beat Roma 6-2, why would I?

You'll have to make one first, I'm lost here.

All I've got so far is Man Utd won a Europa League game and we lost one last season.

Another day of being comedically stupid
Usual responses. As if he needs rescuing. He just doesn’t own it when he is wrong. In fact he justifies it by saying they are still crap and spent 200m on defenders who can’t defend. While we spend 70 m on two players who have struggled to defend one end and struggled to score the other. Man U have been up there all year challenging. We have not been close since October . Man U have been a good watch this season more often than not. Pains me to say it.

Sorry to upset you, but we'll finish below Man Utd next season. And the season after, and the season after, and the season after.

Not sure why you're having a go at me but just making up stuff that I didn't say isn't really going to cut through.

It's not though is it. If you'd said, that's a good win for United tonight, nobody would have argued. You need to be on brand so throw a large element of false equivalence and zero context in though...and I don't post to rescue anyone

Have I missed something tonight? I go down the pub for a few hours with me mates and I come back to loads of people being tetchy about fuck all.

Wait till Albion dump all over us on Monday!
If we have a particularly bad result I tend to avoid Wolves/football social media for a day to give everyone (me included) a chance to calm down and try to discuss stuff in a more reasonable manner

DW I thought it was you on another thread that stated this was the worst Manchester United team for years led by Ole the idiot who would be a disaster or words to that effect. Also I thought it was you who gave a hard no to signing Cavani here who has turned out to be good business despite his wages. I must be mistaken if it wasn’t you so I will wind my neck in.

It is a poor Man Utd team by their standards. They should be challenging for the title and aiming to win the Champions League not 10 points behind and knocked out the CL in the group stages.

Ole is nowhere near the standard required for a Utd manager IMO. I reckon he would be terrible at any other Premier League team. Give most managers Bruno Fernandes and 20 penalties a season and they should be able to make a decent go of it.

Completely my point. Despite being considered to have had poor seasons by their standards Arsenal Spurs Man Utd and Chelsea have all reached the latter stages of competitions and are challenging for Europe in the league in all cases bar arsenal. Liverpool have had injuries worse than us and had a shocking season as champions but will still probably make top 6. Leicester and West Ham are the teams who have kicked on and we have at best, regressed in both style and personnel. There are times , you may have noticed, where is irritates me somewhat when we overly defend the recruitment the style and Nuno. The only way for me is to learn from it and show serious intent to come back with a stronger squad, stronger ethos and recognised style next season.
