Live Match Discussion: 2020/21

Lee Mason is having a performance that should justify his immediate forced retirement.

What is going on here.

He did blow, then said he didn't, then changed his mind out of nowhere, now we have VAR. Crazy.

VAR now furiously skimming the rules manual to justify not giving it after all.

The most worrying thing is it confirms everything Nuno said about him. He made his decision and then caved and gave the goal when the Brighton players protested.

Second whistle was way after Dunk strikes the ball.

I have never seen anything like that before.

He blows to let them take it "quickly"
Then as the ball is going in (but before it did), he blows, presumably because he realises he has fucked up and Albion aren't set
Then he gives the goal
Then VAR check it
Then VAR disallow it.

So, so thoroughly inept, and obviously that is nothing to do with VAR, it's purely down to the clown cuntery of Mason. VAR actually made the right decision.

Farcical stuff, blows to say they can take the free kick then decides actually no. Nuno silently smiling away, if he's having the misfortune to watch this shit show of a match.

I think it actually goes in before he blows the whistle a second time (for an offence which doesn't even exist)

On reflection, with the HT replays, it sounds like he whistled AFTER the ball crossed the line, which obviously means the goal should have stood.

Mania.

He's certainly still whistling when the ball goes in. I suppose its like offsides when the ball is touched, can they isolate the instant initial peep of his whistle?

Connolly has missed an absolute sitter to equalise, if they do lose this they'll only have themselves to blame for these missed chances.
