I know something similar has been said on here before but Bruce is going through his whole bingo card of excuses for their predicament. Face never fitted, vendettas, hysteria, not my side, not giving into the players preferred formation (after 18 months ffs) injuries. His only hope is that Ashley won’t sack him whilst there’s breathing space to the bottom 3. There’s a side in their squad that should comfortably survive but he’s trying his best to prove me wrong.

In a 4 at the back I'd have Lascelles over Coady. We could do a lot better though

Don't agree with this. Yes, play to the whistle and all that, but the defence stopped. The linesmen/women are told not to flag and she did. No goal and send the lino into oblivion

Well, they shouldn't stop, that's their own fault.

Also Furlong shouldn't do his Zubar impression and Massey shouldn't have flagged.

Play to the whistle not the flag. She should not have flagged but at least ref got it right for once and knew it was close so played on.

sorry that’s garbage players no full well how the rules work currently and even if the flag goes up it’s no guarantee the games going to stop basics.

Yes they know full well, but it's a new rule and they've spent 10 years plus being programmed to see the flag and know the game will be halted.

It's sloppy whichever way you paint it. They're strolling around, turning their back on the play...unacceptable.

Their defending as a whole has been atrocious. Lucky to only be 4-0 down.

It’s like driving down a road that’s been a 50mph speed limit then it’s lowered to 40mph and having a a defence of it’s been 50mph for years that’s why I was speeding.

Absolutely and obviously isn't going to change the result of the game, it's still an officiating mess though and we'd be livid if that happened to us

Cancelo hit it as 90% of players would do in that situation. Happened all the time in those positions pre VAR.

The flag goes up a bit before then and it’s just a bit savvy from Cancelo and not so much from the Albion players. As DW says it’s not like it would have much of a difference to the outcome of this game.
