Watched Belenenses vs Porto tonight. First surprise: Belenenses' coach is our very own Silas! He still looks more or less the same, just with less hair. Second surprise (although whether it should be or not is another matter): How brazenly bent the refereeing is. Porto went 2-0 up but took their foot off the gas and it went 2-2 (awful keeping by Casillas on the equaliser). Into injury time, Porto player volleys it from the edge of the box, hits a Belenenses hand about six inches away (arm is by his side)...two minutes of Mr VAR wittering on in the ref's ear...and penalty given.

There didn't seem to be anyone in the Porto side who we would want here other than Maxi Pereira on the basis that we know who we currently have at RWB. Brahimi was ineffectual and Aboubakar was dreadful.

I watched Porto last weekend against Chaves. Aboubakar scored two goals and Brahimi absolutely ran the show from left wing, also scoring. It was poor opposition but I wonder if they are always that different week to week?

Never been a penalty and think the referee should know this by how Salah goes down. That’s the sort of penalty where fans question if it’s given at the other end.
