Live Match Discussion 2018/19

City have been absolutely amazing. Been in the corner where Sterling has done majority of his good work, him and Mendy have a great understanding.

Can Ozil even tackle? Showing less ability than Dave Edwards.

It’s pretty much ‘as you were’ for Arsenal, I really can’t see any difference to how Wenger used to play.

It will take time for anything to change, the whole team is pretty much Wenger's and have been used to his style of play for years. Torreira coming in should help, but the team needs some major investment which seems unlikely. And to ditch Ozil, fraud of a footballer.

They are playing the best team in the country by a mile, so can't take that much from this.

Ozil playing centre forward even though Lacazette and Aubamayeng both on the pitch?

If ozil played for man city he'd be amazing, he's a flat track bully footballer

Ederson’s distribution has been fucking shocking the last ten minutes and he’s put City under pressure unnecessarily a couple of times, looks like he can’t be bothered he’s that casual.

That phrase is up there with 'aids for the eyes' and 'methinks'. Sure sign that the sentence preceeding or following is bollocks :)

Welcome to the opinion, I just don't rate him at all. He has a terrible attitude, can't defend or tackle in any way, he's lazy, and wilts under any sort of pressure. He's a flat-track bully with a nice highlight reel against teams like Ludogorets but fails on the big stage or when his team needs him time and time again.

Won the world cup though, not sure you can get much of a bigger stage or pressure?

He's lazy and not very good at tackling at all, but to call him a fraud is just lazy stereotyping, he's a truly amazing footballer at times.

Mustafi, Mertesacker and Jesus Navas have won the World Cup in recent times too so to just use what he has won on the face of it can be deceptive. He played in all the games yes but was he a crucial player? I didn't think so, maybe only in the game against Algeria. But he was seldom identified as the key player in that team, when the spotlight was truly on him like this year he floundered.

How often in big games can you think of a time when Ozil shone? Last year he did well when they beat Tottenham but that was about it. Went off at HT in their FA Cup final against Hull, did little against Chelsea in 2017 too. Champions League last 16 matches vs Barcelona and Bayern? He does nothing, same for their Europa Semi vs. Athletico. He's anonymous when it matters.

Ozil is one of those who splits opinion massively so we aren't going to agree on him. I think Arsenal would be better off without him as any team that requires him to be a key player will be let down.

I mean he won German player of the year something like 5 times during a period when Germany have been pretty good... complete fraud though.

Don’t think Arsenal were as bad as made out. Emery always had a lot of work to do, and I think they will be a lot better this season, especially compared to last season. City just kept them at arms length. So many players only just returning stuff the World Cup that it’s hard to really judge teams right now.

Ozil is a flat-track bully. Just doesn't turn up in big games. Another today, whenever he got the ball in advanced positions he played it backwards or played it to a City defender.

That German award is decided by a public vote. Wayne Rooney used to win ours pretty regularly and we all know of some of the strange player of the year votes that Wolves have had, it doesn't mean much. Arsenal and Turkish fans are quite infamous on the internet for flooding polls to vote for players for a laugh. This will be his sixth season for Arsenal and how many times can you say he has shown his quality in a big match?

I hope the Arsenal fans keep patience with Emery. They've been right ungrateful shits at times but I did sympathise with their frustrations at treading water under Wenger. Just one game has been played, against a team much better than them but already see some of the overreactions on Twitter and places. Going to be a difficult season after Wenger but always was going to be when one man has been there for so long, the whole club needs time to adjust.

Yeovil disallowed a goal for a made up foul. Standard of refereeing is truly shocking

Celtic going out to AEK Athens. Seems as if a bit of discontent, relationship not so good between Rodgers and the board. Wonder if he will stay? Apparently their wage bill has gone up a lot under him
