O'shea said they had watched arsenal-swansea and tried to play/defend like them..very very poor of arsenal failing to break through once again

28 shots (albeit only 8 on target)

If you can't get at least 1 goal from that then you don't deserve to win

I feel many of the arsenal players are too alike/similar..small, quick good with the ball..passing it around..no real power

For example with a fellaini type of player they would have killed them

That's been Wenger's modus operandi for a few years now. No real wide midfielders, all the overlap theoretically comes from the fullbacks but Bellerin and Gibbs (though pacey) simply don't have the quality for that job. Playing five central midfielders without having really world class overlapping runs coming in is just asking for problems like today. I lost count of the number of crosses Arsenal put in that Sunderland barely had to move to defend against.

Yeah must have been like 100..arsenal didnt win more than one or two of those

west brom beat chelsea - lets talk about raheem sterling
sunderland get a vital point at arsenal to survive - lets talk about raheem sterling

fuck off sky

I daresay NBC has actually been the best outlet for the Prem since they took over. Not just in the States, anywhere. Really have been impeccable.

They just have no balance to their side at the moment, Arsenal are at their best with runners from midfield who play into Giroud's feet and then get upto and beyond him for the return, with the line up that they're sending out most of the time at the moment it just doesn't happen. Cazorla can't do it from his deep position, Ramsey is just wasted out on the right for some reason, Ozil has no inclination to play that way he just wants to play people through and admire what he's done, then you've got Sanchez who's just a bat shit mental thing all of his own, when it's going well for him it's fantastic but he's looked poor for at least 5 games now. So now you're stuck with the worst of Arsenal under Wenger, load of tidy footballers with zero penetration.

They need to get some cut and thrust back into their midfield, especially so against a side like Sunderland where they can afford to just go for it, get Ramsey central with license to attack, Wilshere's return from injury should help too, as much as I don't really like him bring Walcott back in to play on the right, he's only proper option they have there at the moment and can throw Rosicky for good measure too, he's usually good for raising the tempo and having a go at it.

Rosicky is such a lovely player; I know he's old but every time he's fit he'd be the first name on the sheet for me were I Arsene.

While we're on the subject, playing Cazorla, and more particularly Oxlade, in deeper positions absolutely does my head in. Can they play there? Sure. Is it their best position? Hell fucking no.

Cazorla has played in a deeper role for the vast majority of the season and has been majestic.

It's been his best season in an Arsenal shirt to date.

His first half of the season was too poor to call it that, IMO. I'd say it has to be second best to his debut year.

This should be a fun day out.

Leeds United will play Glasgow Rangers at home on July 25th 2015 in a pre season friendly.

Weird day in Sweden as AIK and Malmö both lose by 3 goals to 0 (against IFK and Hacken, respectively). Although more surprising is the table after 9 games, which has IFK top and both Malmö and AIK missing Europe entirely.

Agree with that..but elfsborg also has a great team..i expect malmö to win it in the end though if they dont go through to CL or EL, then it will be more difficult..expected häcken to be higher up the table also..aik will be up there too, with ifk göteborg

Middlesbrough *ahem* favorite Kei Kamara is MLS' leading scorer with 9 in 12 games.

Nine years to the day that he signed for Arsenal and still the commentators pronounce his name wrong. Rosicky.
