Putting it politely then, Frank, a poor moment for the linesman. I have watched the replays like you have, and I really don't think the defender (even assuming it was a foul, which is dubious at best) has done anything that prevents the forward beating the keeper to the ball so again where the hell does the red come from. So frustrating as Derby were beginning to come into the game and a contest has been ruined.

And again I agree. I am struggling to see why the assistant acted as he did. The incident happened a long way from him, and his vision of it would have been impaired as the two players were running side by side.

Just checking it is you, Frank!!!!

Seriously, I am glad you are agreeing with my points here. It was such a poor red card, and I would be fascinated to hear what the assessors say. Especially as criticism of the unsighted referee is wrong. He has gone to the man he thought could see and been given a completely and utterly wrong assessment.

Looks like a pretty blatant foul to me. 50:50 at first but then he loses out and Remy has got round him. At which point he is attempting to prevent him getting to the ball.

It's not blatantly obvious that he isn't going to get there so I can see why a red is given.

I certainly did not like to see Mourinho waving an imaginary card. Just no need for it.

A bit annoying but football has far bigger problems to sort than managers and players waving imaginary cards. The media make such a big deal of it, am I the only one who isn't really bothered by it?

Doesn't really bug me that much anymore. Though if I was a ref I'd give a yellow to anyone asking for me to show one to someone else. Just to shut them up.

Can't stand it personally but I hate players that try to control the ref, whether it be waving a "card" or racing up to the ref the moment he makes a decision. Not a massive issue in the grand scheme of things but one of the easiest to deal with. Want to wave the imaginary card, fair enough have an actual yellow one for your troubles.

Liverpool's latest selection vs Bournemouth Jones, Toure, Skrtel, Lovren, Henderson, Gerrard, Coutinho, Lallana, Lucas, Sterling, Markovic.

Please tell me that's a 3-5-2 with Henderson and Lallana as wing backs. Please!

There's... there's no striker...

Referees have been encouraged to caution players who wave an imaginary card. Though imagine the furore if a player already on a yellow card was sent off for such a thing.

It would surely make Managers encourage their players not be arses around the ref and get on with the game. Just like the ref should have sent off Cahill on Saturday for the dive. Until a firm hand is given, you will still have players trying to control a game. I also hate players that refuse to come to the ref when he asks and they either stay still or walk a way. Should be booked for that as well.

This should probably be in the referee section, so my apologies for that.

When a referee wishes to speak to a player he is encouraged not to belittle the player by telling him to "come here." What is recommended is that the referee tells the player he wants a word, and he takes a few steps towards the player, thus encouraging the player to do likewise. Players do not like to be treated like naughty schoolboys, so referees are expected to treat them like adults. It is then up to the player how he responds.

Bournemouth vs Liverpool Boruc, Francis, Elphick, Cargill, Smith,Ritchie, O'Kane, Gosling, Stanislas, Kermorgant, Wilson.

On his day Stanislas is very capable of making a wing back system totally ineffective.

Remember the Ashley Cole one from a few years ago, where he refused to move an inch when the ref called him over. That kind of thing is what I am talking about.

Dortmund fans singing You'll never walk alone,no wonder they've turned to shit.

That tradition really pisses me off.
