LIVE! Match discussion 2014/15

on another note Nani is scoring almost every CL game for Sporting..seems he needed the change..

A bit anti climactic having been impressed with Bayern for 85 mins. :)

dont think they really deserved it but it is like that in football sometimes..thats why i truly love this sport..ball is round..

So is a score draw for city now enough as they have superior goal difference to Roma? If CSKA lose of course

honestly, i dont know...anybody else?

2-2 will be I think it was stated in the match commentary. Clive and Andy wouldn't be wrong would they?

according to swedish commentators..Roma go through on 0-0 and 1-1, city on 2-2 and more

These are from Uefa's website, i'm not sure they make total sense, what is the difference between saying played among the teams in question and applied exclusively to the games between the teams in question.

If two or more teams are equal on points on completion of the group matches,
the following criteria are applied to determine the rankings (in descending
order):
a) higher number of points obtained in the group matches played among the
teams in question;
b) superior goal difference from the group matches played among the teams
in question;
c) higher number of goals scored in the group matches played among the
teams in question;
d) higher number of goals scored away from home in the group matches
played among the teams in question;
e) if, after having applied criteria a) to d), two teams still have an equal
ranking, criteria a) to d) are reapplied exclusively to the matches between
the two teams in question to determine their final rankings. If this
procedure does not lead to a decision, criteria f) to h) apply;
f) superior goal difference from all group matches played;
g) higher number of goals scored from all group matches played;
h) higher number of coefficient points accumulated by the club in question,
as well as its association, over the previous five seasons (see
paragraph 9.02).

Surely 1-1 would be enough for City as that would mean level on head to head and then they have superior goal difference?

I think 1-1 is enough, if City score and don't lose they go through in my opinion.

Ok so the commentators are wrong then

Seen the highlights this morning.

Pure class from Aguero, don't think I have seen a more natural finisher. The pace and agility to match his composure is brilliant to see.

Clive and his wankstain chum did their best to ruin the end of that game. What the fuck was all that about when Aguero scored the winner?! Utter cretins, the pair of them. WHY can't there be the option to mute the commentary - it really does get close to ruining the game for me when they're on that sort of 'form'.

Fortunately, I always turn over when the Ewok faced cunt knuckle appears on screen so I've no idea what verbal AIDS he came out with at half time/full time.

Clive was trying to be Martin Tyler from the title winning goal. It was horrible.

Chiles literally didn't know what to say whenever Scholes spoke after the game, mainly because he talked sense and didn't give him any jumping off points for talking bollocks.

The camera went back to Chiles at one point after Scholes and he was just staring gormlessly down the camera. I'm sure someone had to say something in his earpiece to get him to start talking.

This is what Liverpool have to do tonight, according to an arithmetic expert on RAWK.

Win + Basel win: We have to beat them by 2
Win + Basel non-win: We have to beat them
Draw + Basel win: Its over
Draw+ Basel draw: We need to beat them by 2 goals or only one goal if Ludogorets beats Real Madrid
Draw + Basel lose: We have to beat them
Loss + Basel non loss: Its over
Loss + Basel lose: We have to beat them by at least 3 goals depending on the defeat margin to Ludogorets plus we would need Ludogorets to lose to Real Madrid

Ain't there a mute button on your remote?

Anyhows, & I nearly posted this on the bellend commentators thread, townsend read out a post code for a shite competition last night, & the end of the postcode was 0nd (or something like that). He pronounced the "zero" as an "oh".

There's a big difference you greasy no talent twat!:argh:

I thought it was h2h first when two teams on the same points,and with 3 they excluded the points won against the 4th team first.City beating Bayern is bad for City in any case?

So am I understanding this correctly that City has to win and CSKA has to lose?

I think City go through with a 1-1 draw on goal difference as long as CSKA lose.

Not if the UEFA quote is correct,that results against Bayern are removed...?

But if CSKA lose and the City game is a draw then it goes to results just between Roma and City. So a 1-1 would mean both games finished the same and so it goes on goal difference throughout the whole group so City go through, a 0-0 draw and Roma go through on the basis they scored more goals away from home.
