The worrying thing from a Liverpool perspective is that he appears to have no idea how to solve the problems at either end. They're pinning absolutely everything on Sturridge coming back, hitting the ground running and not getting injured again.

Sturridge back just in time for the international break. Pick him Roy. Nice little niggle to keep him out until January would be just awesome. I really cannot describe how much I hate Rodgers' Liverpool and finishing in the bottom half after spunking over £100m would be ace.

Totally agree, after watching Brentdans barstool philosophies on football in Being Liverpool, I cannot abide him. As Dan mentioned, he is a chancer of the highest order.
If anyone has not seen Being Liverpool, I recommend it, just to see how utterly clueless he is. You wont even believe it, I thought it was a comedy sketch for Comic Relief first time I saw it

This line up reminds me a bit of when O'Neill sent a reserve Villa team over to Moscow to play in a UEFA Cup game, he lost a lot of the fans that day and his popularity only went downhill from then on. You put in all that effort to qualify for European competition - throwing a game is disrespectful to the fans who pay a lot of money to go over and support the team. I can guarantee that Gerrard will be pissed off by this - as Scholes just said, he retired from England duty specifically so he could play in this kind of fixture.
