LIVE! Match discussion 2014/15

I may be in a minority on here but I'm happy for anyone to beat Man U. Even them lot. It'll do their fans good to see how most other footy fans feel most weeks. In fact, yer average Man u fan doesn't know the real joy of football, cause they just don't lose enough.

More than a little disappointing, given a chance (effectively ahead of Falcao) and he's offered nothing. Mata and RVP have been as bad though.

LVG must be absolutely miles down on a game vs game comparison with Moyes so far. Off the top of my head, they definitely beat Albion and Sunderland away and Swansea at home last season. As I say - the easiest start he could have handpicked and it's been a shambles.

I said before the season that he was trading off stuff nearly 20 years ago that he did with Ajax, I haven't changed my mind.

I was thinking that had Moyes had these fixtures to start last season they'd be on more points than they currently are

He's been their best player tonight IMO. Not that his team mates have sought to give him the ball often enough.

LVG was a point ahead of Moyes before this game kicked off. Take a look at the fixtures Moyes had.

Decent game that. To agree with Frank, LvG will need a full season as the defence is a shambles.

Swapping Leicester for Norwich, Burnley for Fulham and QPR for Cardiff:

Swansea (H) - Moyes WIN, LVG LOSS
Sunderland (A) - Moyes WIN, LVG DRAW
Burnley (A) - Moyes WIN, LVG DRAW
QPR (H) - Moyes WIN, LVG WIN
Leicester (A) - Moyes WIN, LVG LOSS
Everton (H) - Moyes LOSS, LVG WIN
West Ham (H) - Moyes WIN, LVG WIN
West Brom (A) - Moyes WIN, LVG DRAW

Moyes - 21 points
LVG - 12 points

Manchester United play Chelsea next. So we will have a better idea of where they are.

That ain't the Utd I have come to know ......they would have eaten The Baggies and spit them out with Fergie in charge

Useless toss pots

I think you can adequately assess where they are now. If they aren't picking up a better return than 1.5 points a game out of a set of extremely gentle fixtures then they aren't going to be doing any better when they play Chelsea and Man City. They aren't playing cohesive football anywhere across the park, the selections are muddled, the manager's soundbites are either arrogant or lacking in common sense, there are still too many average players in the squad - one of them, Rojo, it would be kind to call average and this manager is the one who signed him.

They brought Fellaini on vs Swansea and lamped the ball at his head. They were worse in the first half tonight than at any point last season. It's the 20th of October and they haven't won an away game. MILTON KEYNES DONS gave them a pummeling in the League Cup. Moyes would have got absolute pelters for any of that. You can see from a side by side comparison that they've actually got worse at putting away teams who are little more than fodder for the likes of Chelsea. All after spending £150m+ on the team with a supposedly world class coach.

Taarabt's having a dig back at 'Arry. This could get entertaining.

They didn't eat us and spit us out with Fergie in charge.

Honestly, you really need to let the Albion hate go until we are in the same division. It's liberating.

Don't like to admit it, but I actually wanted Albion to win last night.
Utd have a load of 'stars' but no reliable defenders.

Anyone notice how chubby Myhill is?

I don't actually hate Albion....

It is just that I work with some Albion fans and I am now getting shit ALL day long....

Utd are useless tosspots

Thought Albion played pretty well last night - the first goal was excellent and they didn't deserve to lose the game. They look a much better side than they did earlier in the season and I'd have to say that there are 4/5 teams worse than they are. I reckon they'll be okay.

Strange to see a Utd side with that much quality in the attacking areas resorting to hoofing it as often as they did. RVP looks completely lost, Mata isn't the same player he was at Chelsea and I couldn't agree more with Deutsch about Rojo - if he was called Rogers and came from their youth team he'd be getting a hell of a lot more criticism than he currently is. He's just..... well, he's not very good at all, is he?! Utd are crying out for a proper leader across that back line as it's got to be the worst I can remember Utd having.

I don't actually hate Albion....

You sure?!

Welcome to the forum by the way Edgmond - nice to see you over here.
