Lettuce Liz then Tetchy Rish! and the battle to replace him

House of Lords votes against ratifying the Rwanda bill.
Cue the government moaning about it being against the will of the people, and the lords being unfit for purpose

Shapps was on today preparing the ground, saying that the HOL has a Labour majority...it doesn't, or even a minority leadership.

Clarke is a windbag rebel and Braverman acolyte. They can’t change leader again surely without calling an election

They do what they want without giving a shit about optics

Seems his call has not been well received by the rest of the party who are telling him to get back in his box.

Truss and Braverman no doubt looking on smugly like doctor evil and Mini me

He's in cahoots with the pair of them.

The Torygraph are behind this with a not so loaded question by pollsters of would you vote for a new tax cutting Tory leader with a tougher approach to legal and illegal migration or Keir Starmer at the next election? Their polling suggests this mythical figure would win although they lose out to don’t know in 89 seats. That bastion of integrity David Frost is the front for the mysteriously funded Conservative Britain Alliance who commissioned the polls with the Torygraph. I can only suspect that these funders preferred the incompetent blond buffoons (Clarke was pro Truss and Johnson, likewise Frost) that were in the job prior to Sunak and would like someone fronting the party who is more a traditional looking Conservative leader.

"Would you vote for Rishi Sunak, or for an imaginary leader who meets your specific idealised criteria?"

As much as I do delight in the Tory party and pet press flailing because their usual "don't believe your eyes, the country's getting better/look out, they're socialists!" tricks aren't working any more, I do wish we didn't have to wait another ~9 months, give or take, with them continuing to do damage while working through their existential crisis.

The story that if we went to war we would have to call up the public because our Army is not big enough thanks to cuts has got the kind of idiots you fully expect wound up

"I am not going to war with a lefty pronoun baby"
"Use the immigrants"
"Kids these days would cry off"
"They will all moan to the ECHR to avoid doing their duty"
"Should have National Service back anyway" (generally said by someone who has never done National Service)

Seeing Truss and the word popular in the same sentence is a little odd as she had the lowest popularity figures for a PM in history

Hopefully after the next election loons like Rees Mogg and Truss will disappear into the ether like Corbyn and the next generation of voters will wonder how they ever had a say in running the country.
