Leicester 0-3 Wolves: Verdict Thread

Think today shows we have a decent chance of staying up purely because of how bad the promoted teams are. As it stands all we actually need to do is get more points than Leicester and Ipswich and neither look like getting more than 30. Of course we don’t either but at least we likely aren’t looking at 40 points to stay up which would be impossible.
Point a game will give us 33, that might be enough, can't see Ipswich having enough about them to get that & Leicester won't unless they drop Van Rooney very quickly.

I think the introduction of a Portuguese Coach is gonna be a big influence on some of our players.

Still think we have a balance issue in defence. We look a bit lop-sided, but big fan of Vítor pushing Semedo back in to the wing back role and letting Doc use his height/experience in the middle. Semedo/Guedes on that right side were quality in the first half. Toti shocking throughout.

Really hoping we get a couple of defenders through the door nice and early in January.

Really though, a clean sheet and a convincing 0-3 away win is exactly what we all needed. Leicester were absolutely abysmal, but that’s not our problem. Would love back to back wins for Vítor - Utd aren’t all that, so let’s keep everything crossed. I do still think our defence is an issue, even with the added organisation given to them by a proper manager.

After watching the highlights Leicester were an absolute shambles and are now getting the results that their performances warrant.
We took advantage of it and kept a clean sheet, reality is we should’ve won by more.
Looked a bit more resilient but the level of opposition helped.
Just annoying that we’ve burned so many matches with the previous coaching staff.
If we go down it’ll be fully down to us wasting this peroid when we should’ve changed it.
The 3 promoted sides again just aren’t very good at all and probably won’t break the bank to survive in January either.

Ispwich aren't good enough either and we contrived to lose a home game against them just last week

I don't think we can be sniffy about any kind of win atm, yesterday was only number 3 of the season, and the first clean sheet away for almost a year!

It's fine to celebrate proportionately imo

I thought the 3 in defence played well collectively, they are all just limited players.

J Gomes and Andre played as a pair and I think looked better without Lemina. R Gomes didn’t look out of place and Semedo was peak Doherty.

Larsen, Cunha and Guedes has too much quality for Leicester.

Southampton, Leicester and Ipswich aren’t good enough to stay up, we do have the players who can win games…but also a few who can lose games. A handful of key signings next month and we should be able to be better than the three promoted teams…but we still need to reverse what has become a slow terminal decline, we can’t keep losing our better players and think we will improve.

I thought Leicester we’re the worst side I have seen this season, and I’ve seen Wolves.

On another note, I'm enjoying the new Jeff Shi song from the away fans yesterday...not offensive, upbeat and positive but with a barb. Hope it pisses the little twat right off
Been saying for a while all we needed was a catchy little song. Presume we’ve nicked it off someone else?

You are right, but it was 6-1 iirc
If memory serves me, we won two away games at Bristol City in consecutive seasons with scores of 6 - 1 and 5 - 1.
I’m not sure which order they were in, but I think it was as above.

I was at the second of these games, which (I’m pretty sure) was Colin Lee’s first in charge after McGhee left, and I think it was also the three little pigs vs Wolfie clash at half time (still the best half time entertainment ever).

Oddly, I think we were losing 1 - 0 at half time.

Happy days!

We won 5-1 at Ashton Gate in November 1994. They got relegated that season and were away for a few years...the next time we played there was November 1998 and we won 6-1.

We also won 4-1 there under Solbakken in December 2012.

Ok thanks for that clarification.

That 4-1 under Solbakken was the last/only time Doyle/Siggy looked up to their potential, at least in my mind.
