Leicester 0-3 Wolves: Verdict Thread

Lately we’ve been awful at the KP so an actual clean sheet comes as a very nice surprise indeed

We won 4-1 there on the final day of 2006/07.

Our previous league win at Leicester before that was in December 1971.

We had a Zenith Data Systems Cup win at Filbert Street in November 1990.

I wonder if Matt Doherty now has some kind of record for playing under the most Wolves managers.

Mick McCarthy
Dean Saunders
Kenny Jackett
Walter Zenga
Rob Edwards
Paul Lambert
Nuno Espirito Santo
Gary O'Neil
Vitor Pereira

Can anyone top 9?

He didn't play any games under Terry Connor or Stale Solbakken (he was an unused sub for Solbakken in a League Cup tie at Northampton).

Also good to see that a week shy of 2025, Vardy is still English footballs biggest heel

Zico Palmer equals it or beats it, depending on how you count Bill McGarry's and Sammy Chapman's two managerial spells each.

McGarry
Chung
Barnwell
Greaves
Hawkins
Docherty
Chapman
McGarry Part 2
Chapman Part 2
Little

I think his last game was *just* before Turner took over.

EDIT: Forgot about Chapman's first time!

A game which I thought we couldn't afford to lose. Let's be honest here, Leicester are/were terrible, though.

More difficult games to come, BUT at least we looked organised. The midfield protected the back three, kept compact instead of running around all over the gaff like we've been used to. Andre was very good, constantly asking for the ball and using it sensibly. Guedes had a great first half - he actually smiled when he scored.

Cuhna took his goal well - drifted in and out of the game. Gomes, J, should have scored. It seemed more logical to take a shot/volley, but he went with the diving header.

With Gary in charge, relegation seemed a certainty. Now it seems we have a chance.

I love how your instinct after a morale-boosting, vital win, is to torture yourself down a Doc stathole 😅

Bloody Smiths fans 😉

Hibbitt with 7 (assuming he appeared under all during his time) is the next closest I can find.

Ah, been beaten in time and accuracy!

Doc being mentioned in the same conversation with Hibbitt blows my mind, not in a good way.
Tbf it’s probably not a record you’d want, and definitely not in half the appearances Hibbitt has.

Couldn't really ask for any more than that performance and result, whatever Leicesters deficiencies, we really need that.
Took our chances and some actual game management. Another goal second half would have been the icing on the cake but that's probably being a bit greedy.
My hope for Vitors first 3 games was 4 points so on our way to that, obviously the next 2 games will be tougher but both Utd and Spurs are capable of being poor.
The 3 points are very welcome but also now the coach has seen what the players are about.

Precious three points, terrible, poor opposition, still too many passes going astray. Fair play to Vitor, seems to have instilled some discipline. I think we just might survive after all.

Doubly important win as it currently looks like you'd bet on us or Leicester for that 18th spot, so damaging them into the bargain was most welcome
