Keir Starmer at it again..

I can't see him going tbh, and I'm not sure I see it all as a resigning matter. A fuck up, definitely, and absolutely another nail in the coffin. I don't think he'll even be gone after a mullering in May, he'll just hunker down and carry on regardless and do full term
He'll go, its just a matter of when not if. The problem is there is no decent successor who can change the story. There is a lot of good being done by the government its just hidden behind a load of right wing posturing as they are too scared to stand up for what they believe.

Yes i agree, and this has gone on for far too long. Far too passive, far too quiet and also not sure enough of themselves with big decisions.

We know what you are, we know what you are, ignore the vetting we know what you are...

We know what you are, we know what you are, devious bastard, we know what you are.

The kind of leader that in many ways we’ve needed or directly asked for, and who’s actually boringly turned the economy around, but turns out to be disappointedly bad at politics and leadership? Thus ushering an even worse era of gobshites egged on by credulous do gooders or genuine morons at best, racists at worse? We know who you are.

As a verse it might need some workshopping.

Has he turned the economy around?

(Genuine question, because the right wingers i talk to would very much say he hasn't and I'd like some evidence to argue against them)

Economy has been growing, unemployment is down, deficit has decreased. All good stuff.

Unemployment has gone down for the first time in 12 months i believe. (So that's one swallow etc..) hopefully this is down to the increase in public sector pay, which has seen 40k more people employed by the NHS.

But also the UK has moved back to the 5th biggest, overtaking India again.

Where are the GDP per capita? I know GDP is up, struggling to find reliable figures for per capita though.

Iran is generous too. We've helped the US the entire time but a narrative seems to have taken hold that Keir has 'kept us out of it' when he hasn't.
We are less involved in it than we would be under any other Prime Minister since the 70s with the possible, but unlikely, exception of Brown. Unfair to not give him his flowers for that.

I think firing Sir Ollie Robins will be what sinks Starmer. He’s tried to pin the mess on someone who just did his job and is completely innocent. It’s indefensible and shows he was desperate to distance himself from something that was sat firmly in his sphere of influence.

Being linked with an England recall too, although I can't see it. 😉

Well he's also aiding and whitewashing a genocide so I won't be too gushing in my praise.

That's a different conflict though and the point was explicitly about Iran. Although I agree, it's not really any different to pretty much every other Western country who could make a difference. The EU as a collective have done nothing even if some individual nations have been critical.

I'd have thought the longer he stays the better it is for all other parties?
Dunno why they keep asking him to resign.

Pay growth at it's lowest in 5 years. One of many reasons people don't feel any real world effects of these headline figures. Youth unemployment highest for 10 years.

21 into 22 is when inflation spiralled so that makes sense.

Youth unemployment is an under discussed crisis though. Good luck getting an Apprenticeship unless you get a leg up and even then if it's one at 16 not getting let go after a couple of years when they have to pay you.

If you are bright enough then Uni is an option, but that comes with a boatload of future debt and disgraceful interest rates unless you are very fortunate with your parental support
