Not sure comparisons with Savile are appropriate.Exactly.
Its like everyone knew Savile was a vile cunt in the 90s, he had a reputation for a reason. As does PM.

I think it's pretty standard to announce the appointment before vetting is completed. You can't really appoint someone of that notoriety to that level of position without it being out there before all the boxes have been ticked. Remember at the time Farage was making a play for it, so nothing was going under the radar. So not only did he not know about the vetting he appointed him without the proper vetting anyway? Or am I reading that wrong
In terms of plenty of rumours of someone being a bad guy, yes they are.Not sure comparisons with Savile are appropriate.
Are you saying there wasn't any smoke around Mandelson before he got the job?
I’m saying comparing Starmer to a Savile is pathetic. Are you saying there wasn't any smoke around Mandelson before he got the job?
He's not. PM in that context is Peter Mandelson, not Prime Minister. That's how I read it anyway.I’m saying comparing Starmer to a Savile is pathetic.
Yeah PM as in Peter Mandelson, I now understand your reaction, and can understand the confusion!I’m saying comparing Starmer to a Savile is pathetic.
Makes sense now.Yeah PM as in Peter Mandelson, I now understand your reaction, and can understand the confusion!![]()
Yep, I think its been a slow, gradual improvement in some areas. The problem is its all been overshadowed by a bizarre vitriolic hatred of Starmer, followed by Trumps insanity. Any good news has been sucked out and blown away in the media.Up to February it seems like we had turned a corner, generally positive economic news all round

I don't agree. The politics should lead the civil service and not the other way around. What is toxic, is when politics lead the civil service and the same politics sacrifice the civil servants rather than taking responsibility.Sounds pretty cowardly, also seems like a proper toxic environment where people are not able to stand up and say this should not happen.
