Keir Starmer at it again..

So the Chinese "super embassy" has been given planning permission. Now, I might have just got a bit swept up with the opposition, but I do have concerns that this is asking for trouble given how close it is to apparently vital cables underground. I know they're not the only 'hostile' power, and potentially the bad press they get may be disproportionate to their danger, but it certainly strikes me as potentially reckless.

The whole of London is crisscrossed with data comms, as well as wireless links. Theres a reason why all the data is end-to-end encrypted. And if China can break that encryption then we've got bigger issues tbh.

It reminds me of this

UK guarantees £2bn nuclear plant deal as China investment announced - BBC News

Trump is loud and chaotic at the moment, but things like Hinckley and this Embassy are long term and pretty much impossible to unwind once embedded.

This culture of knowing the cost of things and not the value has been happening since the 80s, we really are a bit pathetic as a country, what do we actually have going for ourselves.

Nuclear power is a stupid idea regardless of who funds it.

Andy Burnhams continual desire to be Labour leader is as tragic as it is comical.

He's not the answer, lost to Corbyn and his record as Health Secretary is questionable at best. On the positive front, drove the search for justice on Hillsborough and much more relatable.

Burnham was seen as too Blairite when he ran against Corbyn, which was fair. He's moved left since then, claims to have 'been on a journey'🙄 but he's not really left wing at all - he just seems more like it because Starmer has taken Labour even further right.

Burnham is still a stronger candidate than the remaining centre-left MPs, all of whom are pretty silent these days. He's also infinitely better than Streeting; even visage would concede that.

Andy Burnham repeatedly trying and failing to become Labour leader will never stop being funny.

I thought an arch Blairite who introduced PFI into the NHS would be someone you'd dislike?
