So the Chinese "super embassy" has been given planning permission. Now, I might have just got a bit swept up with the opposition, but I do have concerns that this is asking for trouble given how close it is to apparently vital cables underground. I know they're not the only 'hostile' power, and potentially the bad press they get may be disproportionate to their danger, but it certainly strikes me as potentially reckless.

Trump is loud and chaotic at the moment, but things like Hinckley and this Embassy are long term and pretty much impossible to unwind once embedded.

Burnham was seen as too Blairite when he ran against Corbyn, which was fair. He's moved left since then, claims to have 'been on a journey' but he's not really left wing at all - he just seems more like it because Starmer has taken Labour even further right.
