Keir Starmer at it again..

Starmer will probably go but only because an increasing number of Labour MPs know he’s as popular as a Baggie in the South Bank and they’ll see the Mandelson business as a convenient opportunity to get rid of him without being considered back stabbers. The constant u-turns and his low standing with the electorate mean he’s got nothing left in the bank with a lot of Labour supporters.

I genuinely can’t think of anyone I know who actually likes him or thinks he is doing a half decent job. I knew people who thought good of every PM I can remember going back to Thatcher. If I do know someone who likes him, they are keeping it very, very quiet.

As ridiculous as it sounds, even Boris had people who.liked and supported him right until the end ( even now). I don't think there is anyone who honestly likes or supports Starmer. He's shit, and he has zero redeeming qualities.

He just doesn't seem to DO anything as PM. He just IS.

Now I freely admit that is just my impression looking in from far away whereas I was rather more up front and personal with the times of awful PMs like May, Johnson, Truss and Sunak, but I am really struggling to think of any impact or thing of import that Starmer has delivered (whether I agree with it or not). Even Truss did something in her short time. It was an egregiously shit thing and nearly destroyed the economy, but it was a thing done.

My impression is that Starmer is trying to ride on the coat-tails of "anyone but the Conservatives" for his time in power, and that frankly just isn't good enough. He needs to be creating incentives for people to vote Labour at the next election.

A failure so far, and if the noise around this type of issue continues he won't be lasting the full term. A lot of people will be thinking they voted the Conservatives out to get rid of sleaze, backhanders, and all that shit, while getting a government that actually cared about them. Not seeing much evidence that such hopes and aspirations are being met.

The trouble is, the end result could well be Farage getting power. Now THAT will be a disaster.

So I think Labour need to move Starmer out PDQ. But who is the viable leadership candidate in their current crop? Rayner is compromised by her resignation issue and Bad Enoch and Farage would be all over that in the next election campaign.

The pisser is Labour are actually doing a ok job with running the country overall but the noise is all about how shit, how cowardly Starmer is.
Whether we like it or not politics in the 21st century is all about how the leader(s) come across on national and social media, Starmer is a pariah, not just among the right or the gammony masses but also in the eyes of most of the left or even centrist thinking voters. Its all grist to the Reform mill.
I'm at the lowest ebb of my political voting 49 years.
