Jeremy Corbyn

SNP and labour would form a coalition in a heartbeat now, if it gave them a majority. Politics in Scotland have changed irreversibly.

It is just a year since the general election, and at that time Labour said they would not form a coalition with the SNP, but as you say, the landscape has changed an awful lot since then. It will be interesting to see what happens as the next election draws nearer. I am not sure that Mr Corbyn would be too keen on any kind of agreement with the SNP.

Milliband got bullied into saying that for fear it would cost him votes which it did anyway. Corbyn is a very different beast.

That's mostly owed to Scottish Labour joining the stay campaign re. Independence. That, was and is as damaging as the Lib Dems reneging on student finance and irrespective of Corbyn sweeping in will continue to hinder them, and unfortunately assist the Tories in 2020. Scottish Labour blaming Corbyn for their right wing economic policies is as hilarious as it is, sad,

Yep. Can't see a way back for Labour now unless the SNP implode. Another referendum on independence within 2 years I reckon.

YouGov poll:
"a record % of Labour members say Corbyn is doing a good job, he could win a GE & would vote for him in a leadership contest"

6% against a previous 5% would be a record number, hard to be convinced without any figures.

If he wants to win a general election he needs to appeal to someone outside the labour membership. Farage is thought to be fucking ace by the UKIP membership but he ain't getting the keys to 10 Downing Street anytime soon.

Nail!, head!

I'm not a Labour supporter - I have no allegiance to any political party, although I have strong feelings against some of them and would never consider voting for them unless they drastically changed their policies. I voted Labour in the GE as I thought the candidate for my constituency was by far the best for the area. I wouldn't have voted for Milliband if we were just voting for PM. But I WOULD vote for Corbyn.

Well 'the proof of the pudding' etc, I'm more than happy, as is often the case, to be proved wrong but I'll have a little sportsmen's bet that the only thing Corbyn will be doing following the 2020 general election is resigning.

Trev, would you prefer Labour lost with Corbyn than won with him?

Not a loaded question as I don't have a dog in this fight, not being a Labour voter, just interested to know whether, as a Labour man, your feelings about Corbyn trump everything else. Or his politics, anyway - I don't know how you feel about him personally.

To be honest he's always gonna say the right things re being a future Prime Minister but I don't think he's that fussed, the thousands of new members inspired by him becoming leader certainly aren't.
That's the dilemma, I like to see the Country run by a Labour Government so I'll always be referred to as a 'Blairite'.
My personal opinion obviously and bound to be challenged by his supporters.

Assuming he's still there come the next election, would you still vote Labour?

I cannot envisage myself voting for Corbyn, but not for the reasons some might think. Obviously I am from the opposite side of the political spectrum, but am always open to be convinced of another's viewpoint. No, my big problem with Corbyn was and is his relationship with terrorist organisations. This just does not sit easily to me.

So you had the same problem with John Major "getting in to bed" with the IRA, Frank?
