Jeff Shi GONE

Gives everyone a great opportunity to whine on the internet then I guess
I just don't see any evidence of Fosun getting this right. It's not like the current position has crept up on his and guo suddenly woke up and realised. This has been coming for years, as is well documented on here.

So either Guo wasn't paying attention (unlikely given he comes to molineux and you'd think there's be a semblance of reporting up to him) or it's only now when there is a bit of negative pressure does he take action.

The only time good decisions have been made have been when the brain has been outsourced to Jorge mendes. I just don't see Fosun being setup in a way to make this decision well.

I hope I'm wrong, but history paints a different picture, for me anyway.

Well there was a 0% chance it was going to improve under Jeff Shi and now there's a greater than 0% chance.

Even if it just starts with them not being totally tone deaf it's a start.

That's fair. I suppose it's how much beyond 0% you go.

Sports journalists are access reporters. They'll never risk their jobs to say anything negative even if true. The closest we get is Johnny Philip's weak waffling on his substack.

What else is in the sports group? Is it just esports? Would the share of Mendes’ agency count? Do Fosun / Guo’s wife still own Grasshoppers?
Fosun have never owned Grasshoppers, nor have they ever owned a share of Gestifute. So no, neither are relevant here.

Guo personally holds shares in Gestifute still; Jenny Wang sold Grasshoppers a couple of years ago.

Cheers.

So what’s Jeff actually in charge of now? Just esports?

It's big picture stuff though, and anyone but the previous incumbent (or even an empty chair) would be an improvement.

As for Jeff, let's hope the little arsewipe's career takes the sharpest of nosedives now
Absolutely agree about the big picture stuff, prawnking, but after getting into the PL in 2018 and achieving those two seventh places, I really thought we were going to consolidate being a proper PL team, instead of going up up and down like a whore’s drawers.
I’m disappointed that we will have to build, yet again, from grass roots and even risk slipping again into league one as we did the last time.
Wolverhampton Wanderers are by no means a small club and consistency in the PL should have been within relatively easy reach and here we are again, messing it all up and, I’m sure after the next game, will be in the record books as the worst ever PL team.
It makes my blood boil!
I’m getting too old now and would dearly love to end my days knowing my beloved team was in the top flight forever and a day. 🥲

Perhaps I'm too cynical, but I'm surprised that people think there's a chance of a shift in mentality/recruitment process going on. Seems inevitable to me the interim Shi will be announced as permanent at some point in early Spring.

I think it’ll become apparent in the next few months whilst Jeff was an absolute gaslighting moron that Fosun are still the big problem and similar stupid errors and excuses will still happen.

It's not right to judge people's ability on how they look, but the new Shi does not look the part.
If this new Shi is still here during the transfer window then more heads need to roll. This head of a travel agencies can't surely oversee a football transfer window surely.

Oh Quirk... I don't know how to break this to you softly...he probably will be and we probably aren't having a good transfer window...

No one of real quality is going to leave a club to come here unless it’s a loan ( would you seriously let someone get experience here) or a free transfer and then the quality has to be questioned if they’re free.

We don't actually want to sign anyone we want to keep?!

The psycholoical damage is going to be huge, and the relatonship with the fans on the floor. It needs a L1 style reset where we get rid of whatever we can and sign a complete new team. Some fringe players and 'good pro's' who are too tarnished can stay but other than that everythng goes.

Id build around Mane, hopefully R Gomes can have some effect at that level and then maybe keep Bueno and Toti (re-sign Doc...), get Boubacar back and Lima if he's actually any good. Everything else can can go.

Agree with this. I’d probably keep Bellegarde too, but after that the cupboard looks pretty bare. The most important signing will be whoever is going to be in charge of recruitment as the last four years have proven beyond doubt that if you get that wrong a club cannot succeed.

In Lima’s brief appearances for us he was ok. Alarm bells ringing that Vitor didn’t want to use him and he was sent on a backwards loan but he showed more than Hoever or Jackson.

He’s still young enough to have scope for massive improvement. I’m pretty sure he could do a job in the Championship with a decent CH alongside him. A decent CH who has experience and could captain the side is an absolute must next season. We saw how Dawson transformed our defence and we should be able to find someone who could have a similar impact.
